Annual Swamp Fest Now in its 20th Year!
Swamp Fest has become a tradition here on the Naturecoast in Hernando County! Now in its 20th year, this popular festival has outgrown its previous location at Linda Pedersen Park and is moving for the first time to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park for an even more exciting and fun-filled weekend of food, crafts, and entertainment!
Entertainment all Three Days
It's not just the food and the more than 140 vendors attending the festival that will keep visitors busy. Several bands are scheduled to perform daily including country, folk, blues, rock and dance music. For the list of participants, check out the entertainment schedule!
Of course, the all time favorite is the Swamp Monster Contest! People really get creative in their interpretation of what a swamp monster may look like! Who will win this year's contest?
Insider Tips
Parking should be easily available. In addition to the large parking lot at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, nearby satellite parking will be provided with a shuttle going back and forth.
You might want to bring a backpack to easily carry items that you buy. The weather could still be cool this early in March especially in the mornings, so plan on bringing a light jacket.
Bring cash for any food or craft purchases. It's easy, fast, and some vendors will only accept the green stuff!
Most of all, enjoy the 20th Annual Swamp Fest 2013!
