BEING A WELL ROUNDED RAINMAKER

When you take college level courses, it is usually a mix of elevated useful educational subject matters that are intended to increase your educational value, experience and intellect. Even if you have a specified major, they still have miscellaneous support classes called electives that compliment the educational process. In the end, you come out knowing quite a bit more than when you went in...So it is with ACTIVERAIN

PEOPLE BUSINESS

A well balanced person has more of a command of their circumstances and their tools for dealing with life issues both personal and professional with increased results. I am reminded that we are in the PEOPLE BUSINESS practicing Real Estate. If that is to hold, and I believe it does, then we should experience an array of applicable and meaningful subject matters to help promote better personal stock

PEOPLE KNOW THINGS

When I engage a client, principal, associates and related business people in my field, conversation inevitably turns to things other than the subject matter. Sometimes it is to get to know each other personally and other times it is to take some time out from the WORK MARCH. Whatever the reason, you find yourself discussing, sharing and asking questions for just about any subject that pops up

ITS ALL RELATIVE

That is why I believe that all people and subjects are related. While I enjoy comparing notes and experiences about the business we are in, I also know it all comes down to people and what is going on with them too. Divorce, death, sickness, unemployment, change, growth and all the rest of it comes up sooner or later. We are all the same in what we want and what pains us too

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN

I have found that when a person spends time getting to know themselves, not only do they benefit from personal growth but they also come to understand more of others thus enabling them to navigate more successfully in any problems, roadblocks or hurdles that present themselves. As agents, we find ourselves sometimes counseling others and often because we can identify with that

BUYING & SELLING IS PRETTY PERSONAL BIG BUSINESS

Who doesn't want to relate and identify with another especially when it comes to life changing subjects and events. I mean buying and selling a home is considered the largest purchase of ones life time. Losing a home is up there with losing your job, divorce and death for stress levels. Competent  well balanced agents know how to help and get things done at the same time no matter the circumstances

It is for all those reasons that I write and blog about different subjects because there is more going on that just Real Estate and it is not me telling you...but what Real Estate has taught me...

Hi Richie, the business we are in is way deeper then some think. Buying or selling a home is up there with getting married, having children, the biggest events in ones life.

You analysis is great food for thought.

Good morning Richie. You are right and focus can sometimes create boredom. It is important to be whole and I believe that is what you are talking about. Suggested.

Richie, another great blog.  It's rare when we show one home to a buyer and they buy that home.  When we show buyers homes over a series of days & weeks, we need to be able to talk to our buyers about many things as we get to know them personally.  Your topic says to me that we need to be well rounded people as well as well rounded Realtors.

You are the epitome of a real estate practitioner that understands that we ARE in the people business.

I can't remember working with a serious buyer client with whom we don't share some interest or experience.

BREAKING THE ICE helps when working with folks who, in the beginning, may be perfect strangers, from another part of the country/planet.

Your message is exactly why my wife is the face of our company and I work behind the scenes.  She is much more personable and able to relate to people than I so she is better suited for that role.

Richie, our lives need to be balance and so does our blogging. For me it is mixing blogs about mortgage products, guidelines, and sharing what I come across throughout the week, along with some blogs about my community and what is going on there.  It works for me and tends to keep me sane :)
