Social media, my first mistake was waiting as long as I did to get started. I wasn't on Facebook, I just didn't get Twitter, and blogging, well who has time for that when you are trying to get loans closed.
I started in the mortgage business eight years ago. I had been out of the real estate industry for more than a decade. When I started I thought I would do things as I had previously and for quite some time it worked. Then the market shifted (or should I say collapsed) and I found that I had to restructure my business.
The first thing I did was hire a coach. During one of the coaching sessions the topic of social media was discussed and at that point I decided to get on board. I started small with Facebook and LinkedIn and eventually added Twitter. That was about 4 years ago and happily I have seen results from my efforts and each year it continues to grow and grow.
Now, I just don't know what kept me from starting sooner.
