CENTURY 21 International Convention..A Newbie Perspective! Do You Believe In Your Brand?

Since relocating to Daytona Beach, I have enjoyed my career as a company trainer, a sales manager and mediocre recruiter for CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty

I say mediocre because sometimes if you don't believe in your product it can be a hard sell.

One of the things about recruiting...I don't try to sell the brand...I sell our company, Nancy Dance the owner and the reputation of the company which she holds dear to her heart.

Sometimes when recruiting...those things are just not enough..that is where the brand comes in...

When I train, I train real estate and how it is practiced...I don't train corporate...I don't train the brand..after-all CENTURY 21 was ranked in the top 20 by Training magazine for their on-line platform..it's available on-line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Recently I had the opportunity to attend the CENTURY 21 International Convention...I am so pumped and so proud to be affiliated with the CENTURY 21 name..it's the first time I have felt this way..even after working at Sundance for over two years now. If you know me...you know I am not corporate...still not corporate but I do believe in the brand.

Let me share with you what I got out of the CENTURY 21 International Convention...it might really surprise you!

From the moment I arrived, I was embraced...as a matter of fact, I was quite social while registering...being social caused me a 1st time attendee ribbon. I had to wear a special convention name tag...Oooooohhh...I am a broker/manager  Don't let that fool you...I was honored and felt larger than life!   My first few steps into the convention.

Next I ran to the opening ceremony, as I walked in to room...I was immediately empowered.  I was overwhelmed with all the success in one room....the energy...the enthusiasm...its quite contagious....finally I was one of them....

We had an incredible motivational speaker...not just a speaker but a doer... One of the original Irish Tenor's...Ronan Tynan...

As I looked around the room it was like lightening struck....CENTURY 21 is a global company...with translation booths in the back...Flags from all over the world on the stage...and then I saw a Japanese Representative, with the words Japan on the side of his CENTURY 21 Jacket

That moment I realized we are indeed global probably more so than many other brand out there... over 143,000 associates, 8000 offices in over 56 countries

From there I ran to the trade-show...I met the Nancy's out front...all of us teary eyed not because we were sad...but before we left the opening session...we heard an incredible rendition of God Bless America!

We started to walk through the trade-show, I met Sara Bonert from Zillow...it wasn't long before we snapped a shot and continued on our merry way. I was happy to meet her especially now Zillow and Century 21 will be working together.  Then the Nancy's decided to give me a gift....My own gold standard...my endorsement...A new and improved CENTURY 21 Jacket... between all the emotion...I was teary eyed once again.

I realized what a jerk I can be sometimes...not cruel...not mean...just blind and sometimes a little narrow minded.  Once again...I felt valued...but the difference was this time...I felt lucky...

I felt proud and fortunate...to be part of the CENTURY 21 brand.

I did not hear one person complain about the market, many wearing Centurion Award Ribbons and Quality Service Ribbons.

These people to me are the everyday hero's and should be honored..current market conditions, excuses are not part of their existence!  They can and will succeed.

We continued to walk through the trade-show and stopped at Merrill...FREE photo's. We all stood in line...they helped me to get dressed.  Nancy-Ellen had my hair under control...Nancy Dance was helping me get into my new jacket and Nancy-Ellen placed my original jacket on the hanger and carried it for me...again I was overwhelmed...another reality check..we are in fact an unbeatable team!  Each one of us has our own strengths...we all think differently and sometimes its hard for us all to come to an agreement but once we do...it truly is an amazing thing.  Together once again...The Sundance Management Team!

Next is was off to my seminars.  Recruiting seminars by far one of the biggest job functions that I want to improve on. To me one of the biggest endorsements which made realize I am at the right place was an ex-owner of XYX company...who became an owner of a successful CENTURY 21 held her hand up proudly and stated..

"Becoming a CENTURY 21 was the best move I made for myself and my associates. If ever you question I am here to tell you.... I have far more tools and have experienced a higher level of success."

To me those words were golden.  I felt it too!

It was an enlightening experience and a humbling one at that!

No I am still not corporate, and you won't see me say or do things for the sake to make the Nancy's happy... but I will say one thing has changed for me and I do fully believe in the brand..

Rock On..CENTURY 21..Let's make 2008 our best year ever! How about you?  Do you believe and utilize the tools of your brand?

Hi Midori, it was nice to see you the picture of you & Sara!  I know you're having a great time.  Century 21 was my first company way back in the day. :)

Hey Midori, C21 has done a great job at building their brand.  The are probably the best in the business at it and one that several companies model after.

Hi Midori, don't you love the energy you feel at conventions!  And then to have all the educational benefits that are available, and the great speakers... my favorite convention this year was the CRS convention in HNL.   I hear good things about Century 21 .

It was nice reading about your experience. I have wanted to attend a C21 convention, but haven't yet. I am further inspired.
