Once in a great while we come across a person who is so dedicated to their field that when you think of that topic, you think of them. Nowhere is that more true than in the case of Chapin Spencer. Chapin's name is synonymous with bicycling and bicycling advocacy in the Burlington VT area.
Chapin has worked tirelessly for the last 14 years to make our community safer and more enjoyable for both cyclists and walkers. He is a man absolutely dedicated to his cause. Chapin co-founded Local Motion, our local bicycling advocacy group which has grown to over 1,100 members. He has worked on countless projects including repair of the bike trail after flood damage, creation of the bike ferry, creation of bicycle lanes and sidewalks, bicycle recycling programs, organization of cycling events and so much more.
On Sunday September 22,2013 Local Motion will be hosting a grand party to celebrate Chapin Spencer and all he has done for the biking community as he embarks on a new adventure leading the team at Burlington's Public Works Department. Now Chapin can serve even more in making a difference to our community.
The party will take place at the Intervale Center located at 180 Intervale Road in Burlington VT on Sunday September 22, 2013 from 3-6 p.m.. There will be live music, food and games for all to enjoy. Please join me in thanking Chapin for his many years of service and to send him along with well wishes on his new venture.
