W.I.R.E. the Women's Investors of Real Estate was founded 10 years ago by Dawn Sheehan Lewis who invited me to attend a networking meeting this evening. It was chilly and already very dark at 6:00 PM in Baltimore, but I decided to take the opportunity and attend my first meeting.

I met June Piper-Brandon, an ActiveRain member, and surprised Dawn by showing up.

It was a good group of women, with a few guys attending...all were interested in real estate.

There were Realtors®, investors, a former RN, an attorney, associate brokers, a title person (Valerie with Key Title who I had met at an Active Rain gathering) an acupuncturist, an office organizer, a renovator, a video person, a property manager and for sure... a few others.

The group was quite diverse with various hobbies outside of real estate including photography, quilting, knitting and the love of animals.

Seemed that everyone was connected in some way. After each guest introduced themselves, you could see and feel the networking opportunities.

Investors wanting to talk to rehabbers, agents wanting to talk to the Title Lady, the video person had his iPad showing samples to many interested people and networking opportunities were right there for all to partake.
