Holiday Lights?

The holiday season has begun, at least all the advertising tells us it has started. Advertisements for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday remind us what to shop for when. Every time this season begins I hesitate to start too early, so as not to feel like I'm following what the advertisements tell me to do. I'd like to think that the holidays are personal. Each year, I hesitate to set up Holiday Lights. Why? Because everything seems to be starting earlier each year.

I love holiday lights and love visiting areas that have displays. But my lights will probably not compare to the huge displays around town.

Looking at the cabinet in my garage that contains all of my holiday assortment of lights, ornaments,and porch displays with a heavy sigh.

So I guess I'll start tomorrow!

Things do seem to get started earlier every year Jan. This year we are having a slow start to our winter so it really seems early for the Christmas season. :)

Jan - I saw my first Christmas commercial this year the day after Halloween. I think that's much too early, but I guess that's just my opinion. I didn't start decorating for Christmas until yesterday.

The lights are out or should I say . . . on? The familiar displays are coming up throughout my neighborhood. Personally with having no family at home anymore, I have stopped decorating altogether. But do enjoy watching the displays spring up around the neighborhood.

Sheila - I will. Was going to put them up today but ended up writing a contract and doing laundry. Another time for sure!

Tom - It is strange to have Thanksgiving so close to Christmas, much less Hanukkah for others.

Debb- Yes, payoff is a good way to look at it. I'll focus on staying off the thorns on my trees too!

Jim - You're ahead of me! I wanted to start today but ended up working a bit and got involved in another project.

Carla - I'm with you. I hadn't decorated in years until last year. Now, I'm wondering if I'll get my lights up. Wanted to today but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

I mentioned to my husband tonight that lights would be pretty on our house. He answered that he thought you could hire people that do that kind of thing. I guess he isn't interested.
