Some "Oldies But Goodies" Have Value...Others Just Fade Away

I just read a well-deserved featured post written by Tammie White titled “It’s What the Agent Does with His Experience That Matters” and I thought I’d share my thoughts on this topic.  I’m an “oldie but goodie” and I’m so thankful that I don’t compete with the young, energetic agents out there!!

My decision to focus on my team and do the marketing was a good decision.  All seasoned agents are not tastefully seasoned!!  Some are not worth reaching for a portion.  We each handle how we age in this business differently.

Some folks pass on what they’ve learned and some just linger until they realize that they can’t compete and they fade away.  These are the agents who leave nothing behind.  They just drop out.

I’d rather continue to use my experience of 36 years to mentor and share what I learn everyday about marketing with those who are coming up in the ranks.  All of that experience would be wasted without sharing it with others.  My experience with new construction, land development and marketing are topics about which I share information every day with anyone who needs it, wants it and will listen!!! 

There is nothing more gratifying than to witness a younger, active agent run with that newfound information.  The energy spurt is fantastic.  The excitement that radiates from that agent is energizing to me.  It makes me want to share that same information with many, many more agents and watch it all evolve. 

There are wonderful experiences that “oldies but goodies” feel every time they mentor an agent and observe the dynamic results.  It’s better than being #1 in the marketplace!!
