Funny how one persons beliefs can be another's windfall. I am talking about how we communicate with each other, when and if it is consistent. On and off again may suit the person doing it but the one who needed you when you decided to be OFF called someone who was ON

BRANDING TAKES PLACE WHETHER YOU PLAN IT OR NOT

Branding is where it all ends up and consistency paints a handsome and true picture too. For decades, I was known for answering my phone. People in meetings needed answers and often my name would come up not for knowledge especially but because I was available when it was needed...Call Richie just flowed off peoples tongues and they did and I answered those calls

BUYING, SELLING, INVESTING AND MANAGING

When I have a Real Estate product to handle, a transaction to move along and deadlines to meet, getting a hold of me is the least of your problems that you may run into. I may have trouble getting a hold of the other players but I will and I do when I have to

PHONES WENT SMART?

When smart phones, texting and emails took off to reach their potentials, my already established habit of being available went beyond this Solar System. To me it was like the world caught up to me because it made my beliefs easier to practice. A smart phone and what it does boggles the mind for getting things done...

HITTING JACKPOT

If you don't communicate consistently or have other beliefs whatever they are, its okay. I am not pointing fingers at anyone and not everyone can do this for whatever reasons. Believe me when I say that it was not always easy to stay this course but that was what made it rewarding and special and help line up my 777 (pay-offs)

BRANDING IS WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT YOU

Speaking of branding, I did two other things that worked very well for me and still do. The first was I always wore casual clothes well. Clean, matching and pressed with shiny shoes became my norm day after day wherever I went. People would always tell me how sharp I looked. I would tell others how sharp they looked if they did too. There is a magic when it all lines up

BREATH IT ALL IN

The other was a good cologne. Not all smell-goods no matter how popular can go with everyone as we all have different default natural unique scents. Finding something that compliments your scent takes time and experimentation. I spent a lot of money and time to find the top five that hit what ever nose they were aiming for ten out of ten...(including my own)

WHATS YOUR BRAND WAS A COMMON QUESTION

These three consistent brandings when mixed with a Real Estate license, a business deal or a potential transaction always gave me a good return. How did I know that being available, dressing for success and leaving a pleasant aroma would do all this?

WHAT DID I KNOW?

I didn't. As I traveled I unraveled and these things revealed themselves to me when I was good and ready. Seeing others display their branding only helped the process. The trick is to NOT become one of the herd but instead...allow your "self" (the real) to register with others effectively

YOU WANT TO LAUGH?

The funny part about all this? Things go in cycles. They become popular, stay around for a while and then are replaced with new fads and concepts. About fifty years ago, these exact three things were the norm wherever you went. 

BANKERS HOURS?

A person would sit at their desk and answer their land-line phone all the time thus being available. Then, they were always in a business or attractive dress and lastly, when you went to the barber in the fifties, he always ended the "cut" with a splash on fragrance to die for

Re-invent the wheel? NO. Do what works consistently? YES

and since every call is a potential income stream, it is best to just answer those calls..

Richie.  Seems like such an easy guideline to follow.  Be available, dress nicely and smell good.  I am always amazed at the fellow Realtors I run into who don't seem to care about these things.  Answering their phones.  Surely you jest.  They can only respond to text messages.  I recently ran into one guy showing homes in shorts, a T-shirt and tennis shoes.  His clients were dressed better than he was.  I didn't get close enough to smell him, but I'm sure it wasn't delightful.
