I know You Have A Leak, I Will Find It.

Finding a leak in the plumbing drain lines can be a bit of a scavenger hunt at times. There are signs of leaking in your Sacramento home that you can easily see but you don’t know where the water is coming from. A Sacramento contractor may be a good choice to help find and repair such a leak as this.

Whether the water is coming from a drain pipe or a water supply line, it needs to be addressed. Finding the leak isn’t always easy because it can travel quite a distance from the source before it shows itself. It may require some understanding of construction, experience in common areas where leaks occur, and sheer determination before the water leak is found.

Founding a leak that is concealed in the walls, floor and ceiling can be an even greater challenge. Nevertheless, it must be found and with minimum damage to all surfaces. There are tools available to help find the source of the moisture and this can be very helpful.

I recently found a leak in a drain pipe that got overlooked at first. Using a camera, I was able to reach into an access panel and get a photo of the top of a drain pipe and discovered the crack. This crack was particularly hard to find because the fine crack was between two pipe fittings. Looking at it from a side angle, the crack could not be seen.

If you are having trouble finding that water leak in your home, consider hiring a contractor in the Sacramento area. The contractor may save you both time and money in the long run. Once you find the leak, you will still need to fix it. A Sacramento contractor with experience will make things easier for you.

Tom knows where the best place to take a leak in his hometown is. He can sneak a peek, stop that leak... or tell you how to put a kink in the plumbing to dry things out.

This is something that I would guess 999 out of 1000 home owners could not possibly do themselves.

The use of cameras by home inspectors helps.  Much better than tearing up walls, flooring, etc.

Roof leaks can be tricky to find the source of as well.  Water can detour quite a distance.

Some times finding leaks can be a tricky job, one of the big challenges we always had with new construction was a nail in a wire, even though you protect with nail guards etc.  sometimes somewhere they drive in a three and half inch screw to set cabinets or shelving etc.  You can't put nail guards on every hole that the wire has to pass thru.   I use to use stand offs above the boxes which kept the wires in an orderly fashing and away from the studs.  Congratulations on finding those water leaks.

I just had a challenge on my pool sucking in air, turned out to be a small crack in the automatic chlorine dispenser....

Water leaks can be a challenge for many plumbers, particularly when under a concrete slab.  Cameras and gadgets that the pros have are well worth the speedy resolution that comes with the applied technologies.  Thanks for sharing.

I would agree Lenn, maybe it's best to let the contractor get at it from the start.
