Rick Snow came up with an interesting contest this month in Active Rain. Rick asked us what we have to trade worth it for prospects to give up their most valuable possession which is their personal information in exchange for a possible lead. He titled the contest “Want to Trade?” He wants to know what we do to entice potential buyers/sellers to part with their personal information.
We are all bombarded where ever we go…..please give me your email address…. please give me your telephone number. Every purchase we make one or both of these questions are usually asked. We don’t feel like answering these questions because we already gave them something….our money for an item. Now we feel used because that isn’t enough, they want our name to add to their growing mailing list to contact us further whether we want them to or not.
So….to answer Rick’s question concerning my call to action…. what do I do? I’m the go to Realtor® for the community I market. I’m the town crier on our community events and achievements, I produce quarterly statistical market reports and have them delivered to each resident, I sponsor an interactive website for the community, I help sponsor community events. I serve on our community school site based board; I meet with residents and give advice concerning what renovations would be best when thinking of listing their home. I provide a detail list of vendors (much like Angie’s list); I provide a free market analysis for their home and help them fight their property taxes. My signs are visible everywhere in the community, I blog on: monthly market reports, my new listings, listings under contract and sold properties and our community events. The community knows and trusts me.
Residents call me and give me their contact information because I consistently give them something of value and show I care about our community. I am my communities “Perfect Partner.”
