This post was inspired by my friend Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland to her post Yes, I Do Answer Blocked Caller ID.
I always answer my phone or call back as soon as possible. After it happened, I could hear Margaret's voice telling me, That would make a great blog, so here goes.
It was Saturday night about 8:30. I was working on my computer when the phone rang. I didn't recognize the number, immediately thought Saturday night, but answered anyway. The woman on the other end was clearly upset. She told me she and her husband had made three trips to Florida and still have not bought a place. They were unhappy with their present realtor and the properties she had shown them. They were cash buyers, looking for an active adult community and she had her checkbook with her. That works for me. She sounded sincere and. after confirming she had not signed any buyer agreements, I agreed to meet her and her husband yesterday.
We met. I showed them 4 units. After we saw the 4th one, they turned to each other and said, "# 2." (It was like watching an episode of Househunters!) And that was it.
I sent them to the clubhouse so they could talk to some people and get a feel for the community. We met back at my office after lunch and wrote it up. I just got off with the listing agent and expect a signed contract back shortly.
Who would have thought that a phone call at 8:30 on Saturday night would have resulted in a Sunday sale?
