Prospect CT, where the Living is Easy
Prospect CT has been our home for 20 years. We selected this town because of its convenience to getting to the highways needed for our work commute. One to Hartford CT and the other to New Haven CT. The town was established in 1827 and is surrounded by Bethany, Waterbury, Cheshire and Naugatuck. The population of the town was recorded at 9,405 for the 2012 census and has carried the distinction as one of Money's top 300 towns. The residents of Prospect CT are proud to call themselves "The Best Small Town in Connecticut".
Prospect CT is essentially a residential community but the business district through the center of town offers products and services consistent with those needed in a small town.
The school system in Prospect CT is Region 16, a regional school district shared with Beacon Falls CT. The school system s recognized as one of the best in the area and this fall a new elementary school will open which will be state of the art. The new school will have a 700 student capacity and offer grades K1 through 6. The school will not only have 28 classrooms, it also will have a media center, learning technology state-of-the-art computer lab and a spacious arts room equipped with an electric kiln.
Just off the town green are the town library and also the Prospect CT Senior Center which is so well organized and modern that it attracts seniors from all the surrounding towns as well. On weekdays they offer meals, reservations required at a nominal cost of $2.25.
The center also offers exercise classes; art classes, computer classes, yoga, line dancing, Tai Chi, Bingo, as well as occasional bus trips, health seminars, summer picnics and a holiday party.
The housing market in Prospect CT offers something for everyone with starter homes in the low $200,000 range to the higher value elegance of larger homes for distinctive tastes.
