Happy Independence Day: aka Happy Fourth of July!
Many people celebrate the 4th of July with outdoor activities, such as Military Parades, Military Music to commemorate the Independence from Great Britain. At noon on most military bases there will be a firing of one gun for each state of the United States also known as the “Salute to the Union”. This generally is followed by picnics in parks all over the US with outdoor Concerts.
This year more so than any other time we need to be vigilant. The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have advised members of the public to be vigilant and observant over the weekend, particularly during public events. They have also recommended that suspicious activity be immediately reported to local police. Expect delays at events, or when using public transportation as increased police patrols and additional inspections will likely be in effect. Happy Independence Day, America! Please enjoy your 4th of July holiday safely with friends and family!
Please close all your windows and either turn on the TV or put some music on if you have pets! Protect them from the trauma that the Fireworks give. The same Fireworks that give us joy, cause trauma to our pets.
