Musings for Wednesday, 8/19/2015
There's no sun in my coffee today. The skies are cloudy. It's a cool 81 degrees this morning in Flower Mound, Texas. It feels like 90. They predict thunderstorms today and I believe them. Can I go through one day without the sun? I think I can.
In between business, I stopped at Port & Manor in Dallas the other day. You can visit them at www.portandmanor.com. It's a different kind of store where inspiration can be found in every nook and cranny. What I liked best about it was their belief system in sustainability. They proclaim, "The Sustainability of our furniture is our top priority That's why we planted over 700,000 trees since 2005." Port & Manor is a good place to go to drift away for just a little while. This pair of driftwood fish caught my eye. I was thinking about drifting down the Saco River in Maine where I enjoyed it so much every year I was there. I collected lots of driftwood. I never imagined you could make fish with driftwood. Did you? I own this pair now. They are a good companion for days like today when there's no sun in my coffee.
Oh there's something romantic about objects made of wood that comes from trees planted in the forest. To think everyone and everything has the potential to create art - isn't that amazing! How does one create something of value? All it takes is inspiration and a little patience. There's no sun in my coffee today; that's okay, the sun will come out tomorrow and tomorrow is another day!
