Anita, When I visit my parents it's another world.  There is NO cell phone service there thanks to the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and intentional blackout in the surrounding area.  So ZERO texts are possible.  Email on the high speed internet, no problem.  Calling using a land line to check periodically for voicemails, yep, a must do frequently during the day.  And we got it done!
