How to Avoid Handing Out Candy in Land Park

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

My husband went to Target anyway yesterday to pick up candy, even though we had plans to go out to dinner and to effectively cancel Halloween at our house. He said all of the good stuff was already gone, and they had nothing but scraps left in the candy aisles. However, scraps, the icky stuff, is precisely what we should buy because then it is unlikely we will eat any of it.

Oh, who I am kidding?

Plus, when we got home, many of my neighbor's houses were suspiciously dark, but you could still see a big screen television glowing through the windows . . . You can read more about Halloween in my personal blog today at this link: How We Celebrated Halloween in Sacramento at Ella.

Don't know what it was, but so many people I knew were just not in the mood this year!

Elizabeth, My porch light was out. I was in my office working. I think the kiddos got the message. Not one knock on my door ... despite the fact that I heard lots of kiddy noise outside.

I don't really like hearing the sounds of children because it's generally high pitched, grating and shrieking, and I sound just like W.C. Fields.

Elizabeth- I love  Halloween and, unfortunately, ran out after 130 kids!  Had to turn off the light and hide in the back. We did have fun watching football and the World Series.  BTW went to your blog and read your menu.  I am so hungry now!!!

This was the first time in many years that we did not give out treats.  We instead treated ourselves to a little bonfire party.  Was a nice change of pace, but I did miss seeing the little ones in their costumes.

Sounds like a lovely time. I'd say you could look at costumed kids online but that would be creepy

Good morning Elizabeth.  I should have followed your lead and left.  Had a great time and I'm sure all the kiddos are still on that sugar rush..

We were home Halloween night, Elizabeth.  But there just aren't very many kids left in our neighborhood and the ones that are tend to go to more convenient areas with shorter driveways to increase their potential booty.

Hmmm . . . I will remember that when we go hunting for our retirement home. Get one with a long drive!

I just love to eat really good food. And if it goes with the wine, all the better.

Good morning Elizabeth. We stayed home, made a romantic evening out of it, as we are very rural and ended up with no trick or treaters. Turned out very good.

Make it a great week!

No trick or treaters for us was just fine except now we have all of that darned candy leftover.

I handed out candy on Halloween.  Sat on the front porch, just me and the cat, watching the little ones, and not so little ones, come and go.
