Although smoking is the most common cause of lung cancer in adults, exposure to elevated levels of radon is the most common cause of this disease in people who do not smoke tobacco products. Folks who do smoke exacerbate the situation and their risk is even greater. There are no known safe levels of radon. If readings of 4 picocuries per liter of air is detected it is highly recommended that your home be remediated.
