Supply & Demand ...for Presidents!

Andrew J. Lenza made an excellent comment on my post Hillary is Selling Herself... and the Troops

Andrew asked "Are any of the three the absolute BEST choice to lead this country? How come the job can't pull in the truly qualified, larger than life leader?"

In a nutshell, the answer is because we, THE PEOPLE, do not demand it. We do not get the best, we get what we deserve, and what we demand.

We have created the nation of fast food/fast politics, everything pre-cooked and pre-packaged for the speed of our consumption and shorter and shorter attention span.

First the country supports the war in Iraq, but quickly get tired, and wants it fast. They want to watch a TV show about conquering and building and stabilizing the country, but they have less patience than they had for Seinfeld. So, they are tired, and they want to switch like you do it with your TV. You want the war not be on your screen, and it is still there, and people get very upset.

Do we start losing it to a playstation where you actually can stop it any minute? In reality you can't, but we do not want to understand reality, we want to make the reality be like a playstation.

Americans are in Germany since 1945, in Japan from 1945, in many other places for many years. But in Iraq they have only so many months to defeat the enemy and bring the country to where it should be.

Andrew, we get the politicians the caliber that we demand. In every place in the world the people have the government that they deserve. Except for tyrannies, where the people are hijacked.

Will we be able to get the candidates bigger than life? Sure. It will happen when we, the people demand it, when we, THE PEOPLE understand that we need that. It is the same old Supply & Demand law. Supply will be here. The problem is the demand.

Jon - You are absolutely correct.  So few of us take the time to get past the soundbites and the mudslinging to learn about the issues, the candidates, and the truth.  Voting is a RIGHT but it is also a RESPONSIBILTY.  I will never fault anyone for voting for someone that truly believe in, but I am disappointed at those who vote based on soundbites, misrepresentations, etc.  As you said, we must demand better.

Erik - Thank you. If we agree that what we have is no good, it is a reflection of our poor judgement

Hi Jon, I first came across a comment you had written to Andrew and then I came and looked at your last two posts. I usually avoid commenting on politics because I feel strongly and well , another reason is that it is too polarizing. But I would make this comment to you.

I don't think I have ever heard this said as well.

"Are any of the three the absolute BEST choice to lead this country? How come the job can't pull in the truly qualified, larger than life leader?"
In a nutshell, the answer is because we, THE PEOPLE, do not demand it. We do not get the best, we get what we deserve, and what we demand.

This is the saddest of truths. Dare we even imagine again our country where people felt pride instead of the so called disdain ( recognized as popular and the order of the day) . That disdain is being sold every single days. Pumped out like rock music. It is all made up and is part of a sicker than sick agenda. Many believe it because they think it is what they are supposed to believe.

It will happen when we, the people demand it, when we, THE PEOPLE understand that we need that. It is the same old Supply & Demand law. Supply will be here. The problem is the demand.

Its not about real demand, it is about convincing a people that they are not worthy, that they torture , they kill and they inhabit and they are no longer worthy of the pride that made the country great. To that common ( and not by accident ) misconception, I say BUNK. The evil doers could not beat us from the outside , but by meshing so easily in our society and successfully controlling the many weak minds that are so easily manipulated, they are demonstrating their skill to try and destroy from within the greatest experiment in human freedom that has ever been known on this earth. Will they achieve it?  I just so want to bet my marbles they will not succeed.

Jon, More of the pearls of wisdom I have come to expect from you. The thing is , just look at what we put out presidential candidates and their families through and how much it costs, I can't imagine why anyone wants to go through that.

William - you mention a very important point. I read that the leader of communist Vietnam said that they will not win on the battle field but in American cities all over the country.

We are the biggest enemies to ourselves. Freedom is vulnerable. We need not only to understand it, but also to protect the freedom and not allow the vulnerability be exploited.; If we would be able to defeat the bastards in ourselvesw, we win.

I really appreciated your comment.
