SPEEDO
For quite some time now, I have been a swimmer. Several times a week I swim laps at a local health club. Because of the amount of time spent in the water, I have found the reliability and durability of certain aqua products to be more desirable than others. Because of this, I have become a loyal customer of Speedo products. I wear their swim suits. I don their swim caps and goggles! Speedo reflective swim goggles are especially important to me. They are more comfortable, leak free, and fog resistant.
NIKON
Back in 1981 I purchased my first Nikon SLR camera. It was an F3 Model. We weren’t digital back then, but I was immediately taken by the quality of photos produced, and hooked on the brand. The lenses bought to accompany it, were also of high quality. When the globe began to go digital, I was among the first to go through a series of digital cameras. In 2000, the software company I worked at purchased a Kodak 1 megapixel camera for me to use. They paid $1,000 for it. In spite of its single pixel capacity, it produced pretty good pictures. In the years that soon followed, things dramatically advanced in the digital photography realm.
I own a Canon SX 200 point and shoot camera which provides good results. However, it has been the Nikon D90 purchased in 2010 that I will reach for when I want to take the serious shots. This camera has never let me down!
LE CREUSET
There was an old episode I watched where one of the great French chefs was using a 5.5 quart enameled cast iron Le Creuset Dutch Oven made in France. I immediately wanted one. However, when I priced them, I found they averaged about $300.00 in cost. While wondering if I could get by with a more inexpensive version by another manufacturer selling for about $80.00, a little divine providence stepped in. My neighbor down the street is an avid home shopper. In the middle of the night, she will wake up, grab her credit card and shop for sheer entertainment. One morning she called me up to help her clean out shelves in her garage. She asked me to take a large number of items, still in boxes they had been delivered in, and either use them, give them to my kids, or deliver to charity. Imagine my absolute delight, when among those items, was a Le Creuset Dutch Oven, I had wished for. Even more amazing it was a 5.5 quart model in my favorite color red. I have used my Le Creuset several times to make stews, pot roasts, and a couple chicken recipes. I absolutely love it!
