Have you not heard it said that there are so many things money cannot buy. The title of this post offers two of them. At first glance, it appears that money can buy some satisfaction and contentment. However, I am speaking of having these two dynamics within the heart, where it will not decay, be stolen or lost. If not in your inner treasure chest, then you have constant want which requires personal, continuing maintenance and application. Think: hunger & thirst that cannot be quenched
THE PREMISE
Perspective is another treasure. Lets apply it here. All is food for the worms in the end this we know. Until that time, all is "ours" to do with as we please over & over again. The act of trying to purchase something that is not for sale but is available is not a new concept. Instead, it remains a fools errand.
LOVE
Many try to purchase this goody and can but the depth of it shall not be theirs because true, faithful and genuine love cannot be bound by earthly forces. Parents do this for children, men for women and we even over eat or pleasure indulge ourselves for a form of love or approval as dysfunctional as it is
FRIENDSHIP
Dictators purchase armies & promote their closest allies to high status under the guise of friendship by buying loyalty. Anything that can be bought has it's price. True friends are priceless & exceed appraisal standards. If you have one or are one, the giving/receiving is so deep it is beyond words
PEACE
This is a coveted state of being if one has it within the self as the storms of life cannot penetrate the inner kingdom of a persons soul. Many tend to try to create peace and can but there is a peace separate from the world order that satisfies and takes care of its own. Having an inner calm is true tranquility
CONTENTMENT
When a person can say it is sufficient or I have had enough and mean it and it has nothing to do with material things, places or future events, then that person has arrived at a coveted destination where they can truly find rest from all the push & pull lurking outside of themselves. They are content
JOY
If you observe little children and babies, they not only have this in abundance but cause it to spill-over into your life when you observe & or interact with theirs. Some adults display joy naturally creating a state of enjoyment. If it is coming from within, it goes where you go like a playful puppy would follow
HOW DOES IT PROFIT YOU?
It is interesting to note that striving, wanting and having to have anything takes from a persons energy banks as it should but consider what one can do with that energy if directed toward meaningful and productive pursuits. We start out this way but then something takes over that we didn't expect...
WATCH FOR THIS INTRUDER
Our innocence leaks out as we become too serious and ambitious. Why? It's the greed that does it. The weaknesses within the human being are present & when they surface either by choice or events, they remain odd until they are identified for what they can do. Greed doesn't look good on person
MORE & MORE?
When is enough....ENOUGH? Only the individual can answer this. Strange too because people who have everything so to speak are subject to wanting more out of habit not need which is perplexing. I see well-off, famous and powerful people who have no personal pursuits but instead habits that propel them
WHAT TO DO WITH IT ALL
You would think that anyone who has enough of anything would develop another state of mind and being where the effort to obtain or pursue anything has been dismissed. That person becomes closer to a servant making sure others find what they did demonstrating by their actions that it exists & delivers
INTIMACY
We get glimpses of contentment & satisfaction after eating a full meal, acquiring a want, having a need fulfilled, solving a problem, completing a task, and sharing our gains. The real connection is brilliantly hidden in the dynamic called intimacy. When one visits with the marrow of any subject, its personal
HOW TO HAVE?
True liberty has its roots in Truth which when entering into the soul, sets one free to become more of an observer and a natural receiver instead of a hunter-gathering or hoarder of material things. A rest from the pushing & pulling of life is free for the asking and living of it. Seek this first & all else follows
