I had a great day at the North Dakota State Fair on Tuesday. I've had a little trouble posting about it but hopefully the 300th try is the charm.
Hands down the best free stage act was Carrie Cunn
ingham who plays 3 or 4 sets a day. She and her band were very good and I think we will all be hearing more of Carrie Cunningham in the future.
I enjoyed looking at the rides (there was a time when I would have had to ride on every one of them... several times) and the kids and young adults enjoying them. I took several pictures of my son on "The Himalayan" but my trigger finger was actually to fast on every one of them (I got a lot of nice pictures of the couple in the seat ahead of him).
And then there is the food. My diner was this Indian Taco, which is also a bit of a tradition for for me.
I should probably try mixing it up a little as there is a ton of good food here.
I had a really good time and believe it or not I did not spend a bundle of money. I got to the fair at noon and stayed until 7:00. I enjoy going to the commercial booths, walking the midway, and even viewing the 4H exhibits. Oh I also want to mention how much I appreciate that the Ward County Historical Society is also located on the fair grounds. I really appreciate the rich history it offers and the volunteers that work there.
