Quite a few of our Cincinnati patio home buyers are making a tough decision. Is NOW the time to downsize their home? Often, they've lived in their current home for decades. It's comfortable. They know where everything is, they've known the neighbors forever, but taking care of that home is getting tougher.
Should they just do some remodeling and age in place? Or is it just TOO MUCH? Too much home. Too much lawncare to keep up to their standards. Just too much to keep up with, and there's that desire to travel on short notice to see the sites or go visit the grandkids or head for warmer climes when Jack Frost is threatening.
So is NOW the right time to downsize? How can you make that decision? That's where we come in. We've worked with many clients trying to make this same decision and it might surprise you, but our advice isn't automatically "SURE, sell your home and buy a patio home now!". Nope, instead we're evaluating the specific needs of our potential clients.
Can we find what they want? And if we can, is that patio home in an area and price range that will work for our clients? And if the answers are NO, then we need to say so.
Our potential sellers are going to know our expectations for their home's selling price, how quickly it should sell, how much inventory they'll be competing against and from the buy side, where we can find their next home.
And sometimes when we do that, our recommendation just might be to stay put. To hire someone to do the lawncare and stay in a home they're happy with. But if selling and moving is the best course of action, we'll let them know that too. And once we've laid the facts on the table, we're here to provide support with whatever decision they make.
