2017 Patriotic Corvette StingRay
"You have to find that thing about you
that distinguishes you from all others, and through
true talent, hard work, and passion,
anything can happen." --- Dr. Dre
CLASSIC
This 2017 Patriotic Corvette StingRay on display at Parkers Square in Flower Mound, TX, recently got me thinking about what motivates people? Clearly, the owner of this beautiful cherry red, fire engine red, or real red Corvette StingRay had a clear perception of style and the impact it has on others. In my mind, the true color here is assertiveness because the owner, a United States Coast Guard Retiree from Frisco, illustrated style, personality, attitude, his values, and talent.
PERFORMANCE
Performance makes the difference between mediocrity and excellence. The subject of motivation always comes up when you hear about leadership. What drives some people further along in life than others? While looking at this car, I was reminded of the day I got my Driver's License. I was so excited! However, as I sat behind the wheel of the car, before the Instructor gave me my papers showing I passed, he said something to me that I never forgot. "This isn't just a car. It's a weapon. If you don't know what you're doing behind the wheel, you can kill someone." My smile faded in an instant. It was in that moment I realized, in order to enjoy my car, or have a higher standard of living than having to ride the bus, bicycle, or walk to places I wanted to go, I had to practice excellence.
"Do you know great minds enjoy excellence,
average minds love mediocrity and small minds
adore comfort zones?" --- Onyi Anyado
SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE
Performance that is merely satisfactory is never acceptable. Whether it has anything to do with style, skill, talent, or duties the expectation by the consumers or the general public is, anyone with leadership to serve as an example to others by performace must be at a high level of excellence that must exceed expectations. Whatever license one holds the person who has the duty must convey trust, competence, an attitude that others are important, talent to outshine the competition, and high performance which always excels when there is excellence.
Patricia Feager - My job is to provide excellence to all.
