Thankful Thursdays...You Can Say That Again!
Many of us here subscribe to the glass half full view of life. For me, it’s the only way I know how to function. Bad things happen but I have always found it helpful to look for the sunshine in the clouds in the sky.
Wednesday, we were in the Emergency Room of Delray Medical Hospital by 6:30 in the morning. Larry was feeling odd, was nauseated and was having trouble maintaining his consciousness. I called 911 and quickly grabbed phones, chargers, and water.
Everything checked out with Larry after they arrived but they decided to proceed to the hospital and I followed in the car.
After the usual bloodwork, CT Scans, etc and after they felt he would be all right, we were home by 10 am. He was a little dehydrated, but we have an appointment with his cardiologist. (There is a long background story but Larry has 3 stents and each time he did not present with the typical heart-related symptoms.)
So this post is about being thankful, and that I am.
1.Extremely thankful that Larry is all right!
2. I am forever thankful and grateful for our friend, Vic, who came over immediately and brought coffee and bagels. I knew that his presence would brighten Larry’s spirit.
3. I am thankful to be a part of an extremely large-hearted group of women...the moderators of the group Bananatude.
It was my day to moderate but had to ask for a help with it! All chimed in with offers of encouragement. Thank you Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886

4. Not that I would have wished Hurricane Michael on anyone, but I am thankful that we did not have to try racing to the ER during a hurricane.
5. Only true coffee lovers will get this but we had to send our Jura automatic coffee machine away for repair and it was delivered yesterday. As it required a signature for delivery, someone had to be home to sign for it.
Larry and I laughed while waiting for the doctor, trying to make lemonade out of lemons. "Thank goodness the coffee maker was delivered yesterday or no one would have been home to sign for it."
PostScript… Larry has been poked, prodded, and scanned and knock wood, everything seems to be ok for now.
And, by the way...as organized as I think I am...I totally forgot to grab a pair of shoes for Larry. Poor guy had to leave the hospital in his socks.
