Have you ever seen a Smoking Wall?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Godzyk Real Estate Services NH License 033394

NO, the wall is not on fire, but check out what a decade of smoking does to a wall when the same pictures are never moved. This is at one of my new Manchester NH area listings. Not to worry, the home is priced right and no doubt a bargain shopper will buy this home willing to do the work.

Do not fret, the shag carpet is like brand new where the furniture was. I had some fun with ALEXA'S  voice as I sat and waited for a buyer who has been waiting for a home this neighborhood to come on the market they could actually afford.

The moral of the story is that there is a buyer for every home. This seller asked their friends and family who was the best agent to sell a home needing work. More than one told them to call me.

There is a difference from agent to agent.  That a Buyer or Seller should not choose just any agent, choose the BEST agent for the job. My philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.

Oh my gosh, Scott. I have seen this and a smoking ceiling, as well! Not a pretty sight and a bear to clean up.

Yes definately a challenge. The last home I sold like this the buyer called me to come back to see the after. I thought it was to yell or complain, but He told me of the chore to wash the surfaces, prime them and paint everything. It was am amazing change Nina Hollander . He was so proud of the redone home

Good morning again Scott. I have seen this sort of thing too. Smoking kills and I am glad I gave it up years ago.

Good Morning Scott Godzyk

Unfortunately, I have seen the effects of smoking and the damage it does to a house if not cared for

Yes, in a home I purchased about 20 years ago. I washed the walls down and then I painted with KILZ and then again with a high quality paint and it came out great.

My mother had rental properties.  I will never forget one apartment that had a serious smoker for several years.  When the guy moved out, the kitchen wall looked like it had been painted with coffee.  It actually had a slightly syrupy texture to it.

Scott Godzyk I have found there is a bigger market for homes like these then beautiful houses . When I get a house like this is seldom makes it to the MLS  because of the price    --gone in a puff of smoke --

Oh yes, it's disgusting. Imagine the lungs of those smokers...argh.  We had an experience in which the walls had to be primed as the smoke kept bleeding through - even after washing the walls repeatedly.

The damage that cigarette smoke does is immense.  It's just not all at once, but a cumulative effect.
