Looking Forward to This View Again Some Day

Like many businesses, one of our favorite places in West LA for a night getaway, the Inn at Playa del Rey in Playa del Rey, a charming beach town, was shuttered until recently.

They are open for business again, as many hotels are, and offering special rates since some of their standard amenities that are normally part of your stay - a sumptuous breakfast in their attractive dining room and a daily wine and hors d'oeuvres happy hour - have been paused due to Covid-19.

The views from our favorite room - top floor at the end - are very special, looking out over the Ballona Wetlands preserve to Marina del Rey, the Hollywood Hills, and north along the coast beyond Santa Monica to Malibu.

I'm not quite ready for a hotel stay, there or anywhere, but enjoyed thinking about it again. We typically go in January or early February (they offer terrific Cyber Monday deals) and always enjoy the Inn, nearby dining, and of course a visit with the kids and grandkids in nearby Culver City and Inglewood.

Good morning, Jeff Dowler, CRS I was happy to read that you're not ready for a hotel stay yet..... good decision.... it will happen at some point but don't rush it!!! there are still untested asymptomatic people everywhere.... we need that vaccine.

So much has changed in the last couple of weeks Brian England . Hopefully everyone will pay attention to the restrictions and guidelines and we won't have a ramp up in Covid-19 cases. I was out running an errand the other day in the Village and it looked pretty normal...lots of people and plenty of traffic.

Hi Jeff- I can see why you can't wait to see this view again. Our area seems to have taken a step back regarding the virus and I have a feeling that some of the businesses that were opening may be rethinking this. While we've eaten out at a handful of restaurants, we're not ready to travel.
