New Hampshire Market Trends report...

The New Hampshire Association of REALTORS released their market trend report written by Peter Francese, as usual Peter make us really think about the future of New Hampshire’s real estate market.

Most REALTORS we’ve been talking to report an increase in activity, not a lot but an increase. June traditionally is a slow month with graduations and vacations but our personal Internet hits are up and we have customers out looking at homes.

We reprinted the report with permission from The New Hampshire Association of REALTORS on our New Hampshire Real Estate blog.

The future isn’t what it used to be!

That famous Yogi Berra quote pretty much sums up the situation. Who could have imagined a year or two ago the price of gas and heating oil rising above four dollars a gallon? Unless something is done to bring down fuel costs, housing throughout this region will become less affordable....

I just stopped in to giggle at your comments and offer that 1. our gas is 3.99 and 2. our market has picked up a whole glob. (you won't find that stat with NAR or Yun, lol)

Jay, I just looked at our MLS stats for the 1st quarter and our area looks great. Why does it seem like nothings moving??? Maybe I listen to the news too much. 68 average DOM and 98.3% List to sales price. Looks pretty darned good to me.

Morning Chris, I just filled up at 3.99 also. Although we seem busy our indicators are still off from this time last year.

Hi Linda, the properties not moving are overpriced. The media stinks they are pathetic plus Real Estate is local. It may be busy in some places but overall it may not.

I'll be updating my first half year stats later this week.

Jay - June has been better here in Mass than the previous two months but by no means is the activity as good as past years for June. Seems like we have a way to go before we get a recovery.

Jay -- I hope that the prices start to come down on the heating oil -- it is going to be a real problem for a lot of people if we have a winter like we did last year.  Also, the rising energy costs are making new construction more costly and less affordable as well.

Aloha Jay.  Hows the golf game?  Playing much this summer?Your real estate trend is the opposite of what I am finding here in Hawaii.  Since we have many military installations here and they are my primary market, a lot of the service members move during the summer months if possible in order to not disrupt their childrens schoolyear.  Tonya and I currently have 9 homes in escrow and have closed 16 since the beginning of the year so there has been no slowdown for us (which is why I havent been around AR for a while).  Have a great day!

Dave, not much golf here as business keeps me busy in the work sense instead of the play sense. LOL

I haven't been here much either.

I'm glad all is well and you are busy.

No golf?  Oooh....thats not fair.  As my old platoon sergeant once said, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".  Good luck for a fruitful summer.

It ocurs to me that it is going to cost a lot to heat an apartment too; although admittedly you don't have 'owner' expenses that crop up -- although you also don't get any tax breaks.  No matter how you slice it, Yogi rocks LOL
