It's time to stop,   REorganize, REstrategize and consider where you are going and how you are going to get there.

We all need to do this from time to time.  I have always done this at the end of the year, so that come January 1st I am ready to go with another year already planned out.  However, there are other times we should also do this.  I think now is one of those times.  With the economy in such shape and housing markets changing it is a good time to REevaluate our businesses.

Did I mention gas prices?  This too, is a reason to look at how we can change our activities to conserve more and spend less.

Sometimes, I get so busy I can barely keep my head above water, so to speak.  Taking the time to look at how much we spend on particular activities to create a particular income in order to evaluate the profitability of such activity is a wise thing to do.  Much of what we do is unnecessary to a successful real estate career.  I can find myself going from meeting to meeting and never talking to potential clients and that is not good use of my time or money.  What about you?  Do you find yourself doing the same thing?  It is time for a REadjustment.  It could save our careers with all the changes that are happening now.

Ricki great post and reminder. We always need to do this every few months to see where we are at and what changes we need to make to get to our goals.

Michael,  Wise move, it is a better way to do business I think. :)

Lenn,  I know how you feel.  That's me.  I've just had to step back and get some important things caught up this month.  Other than closing out my pendings, I'm just playing catch up right now.  There's just one of me and you! :)

Chuck,    You've got it!  RElax, REfresh, and REcreation today! Thanks for commenting :)

Mike,    You are right.  With our busy, busy world it is easy to get caught up with too much to do and no time for creative thought or analyzing our efforts. Have a great week :)

Ricki, I just recently made the decision to give all my Cypress leads to my working partner for just that reason.  I'm not sure why I added Cypress on my website but I did and it comes up high in the search engines.  It takes me 30 to 40 minutes to get over there.  My working partner can be there in 15 to 20 mintues.  It finally hit me in the face that this drive and the gas was not a good use of my time when I could be working leads closer to my area.

Now if I had just figured that out before I tried to work a lease of there that didn't work out!!!

Hi Marchel,  well at least you've got it working in the right direction now.  To get the extra hits from the SEO is good and if you can work with your partner out there that's a good thing.  Sometimes we need to re-evaluate because more is not always more profit.  Have a great week Marchel :)

Hi Ricki... My favorite RE is REferral!  And this weekend was filled with fun as a result of it.  I got the opportunity to meet Joan Mirantz in Concord, NH because I REferred my cousins to her as an agent and when I came up to visit them I got to meet an AR friend in person.  And, if you didn't see my post, they actually had their offer accepted on a house while I have been here, so it was FUN and PROFITABLE!  I love a good WIN-WIN!

That's great Dale,    AR gets us lots of exposure and that can only mean more business! :)

Hi Steve,    Sounds like you've had a fun and prosperous visit.  I like the REferral best too!  Congrats!

Ricki - Evaluating where we are at and where you are heading in business is always time well spent.  We should all be very careful with our time and energy so that they are not focused on non business generating activities or our time will be absorbed quickly.  We can all become the kings and queens of blogging but if we are not out with clients who are buying, selling or referring us business we are heading in the wrong direction.

I totally agree, Sam.   Blogging can be very fun and addictive as well as other things too but contact with clients is what makes us a living.

RICKI - I think that times like these definitely create a need to REFocus our efforts, concentrate on the things that work, and eliminate the things that don't.  Good advice.

I always do an annual budget and marketing plan also. Thanks to you I have decided to do a bi-annual update on my method.

My dec. budget certainly doen't reflect the prices on gas and food that we are seeing in July, Aug.

Hi Sabrina,   A check every so often never hurts.  Like you said with gas and food prices being what they are, things have changed and our budgets have to as well.  Thanks for commenting!
