Are You Believin'........
Sunday night was the last night for the 2008 Olympics and now we are on to something else. With the last beat of the drums, the last song sang, the Olympic flag was passed off to London and all of the athletes have been able to take their last bow. It was a great time and one very good venue.
There were lessons that were learned by everyone and they were posted here by several very good writers. With that being said I would like to leave the Olympic theme with this last thought. All of the athletes that were interviewed spoke from their hearts and always left little pearls of wisdom. One of the very last interviews that I heard the question was something on this line, so how is it that you pulled the win out? And the answer was quite profound and yet very simple, "I never stopped believing in myself!" And the answer always finished with "I didn't want to let my team down."
Two comments that we can really learn from. Let's look at the last on first, "I didn't want to let my team down." What does it take to be the final runner in a relay race? Someone that is a finisher, someone that even though they may be behind when the baton is handed to them but finds it within themselves to reach down deep and leave it all on the track. Have you ever been running behind in the final lap and the race looks impossible to finish the others are just to far out in front and you make the turn to head home with the thought that you can't make it? Let me assure you that you can make it but, it is not my call it is your job to reach down and pull up the intestinal fortitude to keep on going. It is your job to do your part, your job and finish the race.
The second comment and probably more important than anything that has been said about all that we have learned from this years Olympics. "I never stopped believing in myself!!" When we stop believing in ourselves we are defeated. We begin believing that there is no use to continue on, everybody is much better than me; I am just a big loser, and why did they even consider me for this position? The answer is quite simple and maybe cliché and that is because you can do the job. You believed that you could do this profession when you started in pre-license school. You believed it when you took the state test to obtain your license. You believed it when you signed on with your broker. So why start doubting now when it may be a little tough. Now is your time to SHINE just don't stop BELIEVIN'........
