2009: A "Simpler Version" ?

Systems theorists  construct models of complex real-world systems.  And I am a real estate professional in the real world.  But, systems theorists are  mathematical. You and I might lean toward more pedestrian analogies and metaphors to help to explain the basic structure of optimal methodsfor getting from point "A" to point "B".

The object of getting to a certain spot, of course, either is to maintain stability or to drive toward a desired goal. ... such as  a happy eco-friendly Closing Event... I like the that goal. But  I want to know more about these "optimal methods"...

Possibly a closer look into this approach is in order. I may be drawn toward a "simpler version". . .

...."optimal methods"........  it turns out are widely held assumptions that people can be regulated by a system of rules (or laws) enforced by sanctions or punishments, and that this actually creates sustainable and pleasant relationships. I'm NOT a systems theorist, but I do know this: rule-based methods usually don't support the calculations of general system models. They don't support a function that calls forth a simpler version of itself to arrive at a solution.

Keeping it Simple-- What might a "simpler version" be in terms of Happy Closings that help to build Sustainable Relationships?  Fora n answer, I turn now to William McDonough, the founding principal of an internationally recognized design firm practicing ecologically, socially, and economically intelligent architecture and planning in the U.S. and abroad. Here's what he suggests:

"I believe we can accomplish great and profitable things within a new conceptual framework-one that values our legacy, honors diversity, and feeds ecosystems and societies . . . It is time for [us to design systems] that are creative, abundant, prosperous, and intelligent from the start."

Hi janeAnne,  2009 will hopefully be a much simpler version.  '08 had a lot of distractions and activities pulling me in different directions.  My theme for '09 is working smarter not harder.  :)  I don't think I have any more to give if I have to work harder...but managing time and decisions a little better?  That I think I can do.

Simpler Version indeed.

Rules and all that, they are just distracting.  :0)

I'm excited about 2009 - it's bubbling out!  This will be the year our green focus comes to general public fruition.  I believe our "niche" will bring us exponentially more media exposure and clients.  I'm working on plans to expand my attack on the marketing end of things, to connect with the groups forming just about everywhere.

I case I don't speak at you before Thursday, have a merry!

Aloha janeAnne, I hope we see some paradigm shifts in 2009. Creativity and green practices are going to be a key element to getting out of our national funk.
