The Appraisal Process ... Chances to Learn More, Share, and Be Happy When the Stars All Align
This last week, I attended my local Three Rivers' Association of Realtors (Serving Will and Grundy Counties, IL) Learning Lunch. I was very impressed by the great turnout for this particular event.
I believe the topic being highlighted at this luncheon greatly influenced members' decision to attend ... as it was a topic that touches upon all of us within our industry frequently. The topic in question??

Taxes, Assessments, & Property Values Some Timely Information for Property Owners It's "THAT" time of the year again. All across the collar counties of Chicago, property/home owners are receiving (or soon will be) their 2010 Property Tax Bills. Within these counties, 1st installments of these tax bills are due in June and the 2nd installment in September, as a rule. While the majority of the property/home owners with a mortgage have their property taxes paid directly out of Escrow Accounts held by their loan servicer, the "sting" of paying property taxes still exists. Seems hard to believe, but the Holidays are just around the corner ... and that means your days will soon be filled with activities, shopping, cooking and baking, visiting, and plenty of celebrations.

It was announced yesterday by Will County Treasurer Pat McGuire, that 2009 Will County property tax bills will be mailed out this Friday. The first installment of taxes will be due on June 2nd, with the second installment due on September 2nd, 2010. Both installments are due in the exact same amounts. Thank you to Tim Ireland (Re/Max All Properties in New Lenox, IL) for this post out of the Lincoln-Way Area of Will County. It provides excellent information for those within the industry ... as well as the residents of each village. It contains proof that the local municipalities/governments are addressing the issue of vacant and foreclosed properties within their borders. It also informs as to what the costs will be and how registration of properties will be handled currently within each town.
