mortgage: Interest rates are arising

I was looking at this mailer from 2017 and noticed that I mentioned rates going up. Well, we are back to that again. After enjoying historically low rates for the past years, they look to be on the rise again. Rates are still low, but everytime they tick up, mortgages get just a bit more expensive. When a Buyer looks for a mortgage specialist to help finance their new home purchase, they really seem to look to their home bank or shop for advertised rates. This could be a huge mistake. As a Real Estate professional I have had the pleasure to work with many great loan officers, and a few not so great. Buyers should listen to their agent's recommendations for mortgage companies. Now. Right now. Before anything else happens. I worked with a gentleman yesterday looking for his first home. When we first spoke, I recommended getting with a Loan Officer right away. He said he would, but he didn't. So, when we looked at homes yesterday, he found one he liked and we sat in my car for a full 30 minutes discussing mortgage issues. I was glad to do it.
