Welcome! This post was inspired by two of our AR members (and their posts) in Active Rain; Kathy Streib recently inspired Wayne Martin to revisit some of his old posts and he came across one of his going back to 2011 where he advises his readers to:
"Sell yourself...You are the only thing your competition cannot copy!" ~ Wayne Martin
That really inspired me to reflect back on my training and I agree with what Wayne wrote, I believe it's 100% accurate and is the basis for how I run my
100% Working By Referral Business
as coached by Buffini & Company .
The ripple effect in action.
Wayne is spot on with this advice and it jives with what Buffini teaches: If you bring you to your relationships aka your networking, your way of doing business and how you interact with your clientele; you'll have a unique business and database your competition can't touch.
Your competition doesn't serve your peeps, they do not stay in touch with or perform unexpected extras for your sphere of influence; only you do. And for as long as you do, you will have an unflappable sphere of influence that is loyal to you.
I've spent 22 years putting this into practice and I can share that with less than a 10 % attrition rate across those decades, I still serve clients from year 1 of my career - going back 22 years! People are people, some will move on no matter how good you are, that's life.
But, stay in touch, serve them memorably well when they refer you or hire you themselves and you're on your way to Working 100% By Referral and serving an untouchable by your competition database of clients!
Quick example of two competent and busy professionals:
My electrician: excellent competence, charming character and a good communicator. He has my loyalty and my abundant referrals.
My AV Guy - Quite competent, but frustrating character and communication skills - he became a one and done. I have great audio/visual in my home - but he was just too frustrating to work with and I'll never refer him.
You have to be better than the average in your industry, you have to be a great experience.
Thank You Kathy & Wayne for your inspiration for me to write this; your ripples reached my shores!
It's A Good Life!
