Saint Cloud Minnesota is positioned in 3 counties in central Minnesota. While this is wonderful for choices when buying a St. Cloud home it can make for some interesting coordination problems with local law enforcement. Yet here in Saint Cloud and the Tri-County area of Stearns, Benton and Sherburne counties our local law enforcement agencies have not only come up with ways to work through this but to increase their ability to work together and to include the local citizens and the general public in solving crimes.

The St. Cloud Regional Airport is owned and operated by the City of St. Cloud and is part of the Public Services Section of the city's government. The airfield at the St. Cloud Regional Airport has 2 runways.  The primary runway, (13-31) heading northwest-southeast is 7,000 feet long and 150 feet wide constructed with 12 inch thick steel reinforced concrete. The secondary crosswind runway (5-23) heading southwest-northeast is 3,000 feet long and 75 feet wide of bituminous pavement.

Just a few minutes south of St. Cloud is a secluded acreage surrounded by corn and bean fields, and known to a few hundred people, as the Waite Park Rifle Club. A members only club, the gated property is heavily bermed, and features multiple safety and security features geared toward the safe use of firearms.
There are three distinct areas at the club. The Trap Range, Rifle Range, and Pistol Range. A range house contains clay target launchers for the adjacent trap range, as well as a log for signing in and a range flag to signify the range is active.

Years ago I worked with a guy named Ken, who in the middle of summer, had a wool jacket on the front seat of his car. I asked him why he had it on a hot day like this, and his response was, "If you don't like the weather in Minnesota, just wait, it'll change." He was right of course.
I have lived in the St. Cloud area for 45 years, and it is very moderate here, but we do see some extreme weather. Most notably, we seem to be on the same system as the Dakotas, where the wind blows … (4 comments)

In Eastman Park at Lake George downtown St Cloud stands the Central Minnesota Vietnam War Memorial. Carved in granite, an American soldier and South Vietnamese soldier represent the 2 countries who fought side by side during the war, and above their heads flies their countries flags.
You'll never be forgotten, carved in granite, at the feet of the the 2 soldiers. The memorial was created due to the efforts of Hoa K.
