mindset: Accentuate The Positive - 05/16/11 02:56 AM
As we've been doing for the last few weeks, we've bene sharing some of Brian Klemmer's leadership lessons. They're great lessons for our business and our lives. Everything is mindset and lesson #37 is about Accentuating the positive. Leaders don't tolerate negative conversation. Lots of real estate agents come to us and want advice on how to overcome a problem. We would propose that you simply don't allow the problem to exist. As a short sale agent, just flat out rebuke a negotiator. Let them know that you are the short sale negotiator and you are in charge of the transaction. … (5 comments)

mindset: Leaders Develop A Root Structure - 05/09/11 03:09 AM
We're talking about Brian Klemmer's leadership lessons and the manner in which they can help you improve and increase your business. The concept today is about growing your root structure. The idea behind this principal is that leaders are more interested in developing their root structure than getting immediate results. You have to build your business practices with the end in mind. You have to build a good foundation before you ever decided to grow your business. Build for what you expect to be or hope to be. Lots of agents build for their immediate needs. They look at their current … (1 comments)

mindset: Paying The Price To Be Successful - 05/02/11 04:18 PM
First, we'd like to start with a few announcements. We have been asked to do a presentation for Activerain at their event called Raincamp in Dallas, TX on Tuesday, May 24th. We won't be talking about short sales very much on that day. We'll be talking about branding your business. We also have lots of new viewers that have been joining us from the Short Sale Mastery classes we've been teaching across the country. So, thanks for watching. Today is a little episode that we call Mindset Monday and our lesson today is about paying the price. Leaders know that there … (3 comments)

mindset: Are You The Carrot, The Egg or The Coffee? - 04/18/11 02:50 AM
We've decided to change things up a little bit on Mindset Monday. We spent last week honoring our good friend Brian Klemmer and we decided that we would take some insights from a book he wrote entitled "Eating The Elephant One Bite At A Time" Lesson one applies directly to short sales. Leaders change the situation instead of being changed by a situation. For example, a carrot is firm. However, putting it into boiling water and a stressful situation causes the carrot to become limp and soft. Put an egg into that same situation and the egg turns from soft in … (3 comments)

mindset: Remembering An Influential Man - 04/11/11 03:35 AM
Klemmer & Associates founder & CEO Brian Klemmer passed away last week as the result of a torn carotid artery. Like Brian, this condition is extremely rare – one in a million. Mr. Klemmer was at the office in Petaluma, CA when he initially suffered the results of this medical condition. When Brian Klemmer founded Klemmer & Associates, his dream was to create an army of compassionate Samurai to make a difference in this world. The greatest way that those who know and loved Brian can honor him is by stepping into that role. Brian has assembled a management team in … (1 comments)

mindset: The Bank Has A 'NO' Mindset - 03/14/11 04:10 AM
The bank has a 'NO' Mindset. The bank employees are paid to make decisions. They can say yes to your file or say no to your file. Every time you send a file in the bank is looking for the easiest way to make a decision. If you don't have a complete file or you don't follow up on a file, the easiest thing to do is say no. This isn't anything personal, they just want to make a decision. This information comes from our Crush it short sale classes. A former Citi mortgage manager shared with us that they are … (4 comments)

mindset: Thinking With The End In Mind - 02/21/11 03:12 AM
It's mindset Monday and we thought that we would talk about thinking with the end in mind. People ask what Group 46:10 stands for all the time. The inspiration for our team name comes from thinking with the end in mind and i can't think of any other real estate transaction where thinking with the end in mind is as important. Short sales are a big deal. You have a homeowner in a tough situation that doesn't know what to expect. You don't know what to expect from them. So, when you start a transaction with a seller, you should be … (1 comments)

mindset: Stay Focused During December - 12/06/10 04:12 AM
Since Fred is unavailable; we've brought Brian Gubernick back. He's had the most guest appearances on Short Sale Power Hour. It's mindset Monday and we've been talking about focus. Lots of the real estate community starts to focus on the next year, but the rest of the realtors out there just take the month off. They might go to the office, but honestly, they are taking the month off. You should remember that the business you do in December will be closing in January. So, if you want to start 2011 with a bang, you need to work hard in December. … (4 comments)

mindset: Gratitude and Goals - 11/29/10 02:04 AM
Good morning everybody. Welcome to Short Sale Power Hour. It's mindset Monday. We'd like to talk about the mindset of gratitude. Without getting to sappy, we'd like to talk about what we are greatful for. After all, what you focus on expands and what you resist persists. This time of year seems to be the one time that we, as a society, stop to reflect and give thanks. It's good that we stop and reflect, but wouldn't it be nice if we did it more than just once a year. We have found that when we are greatful, more things to … (3 comments)

mindset: Owning Your Business Or Being Self Employed - 11/22/10 03:07 AM
It's Mindset Monday! Last Monday we spoke about being willing to educate yourself and always push for growth even when things are inconvenient and uncomfortable. We attended Masterminds this week and Gary Keller gave us a big reminder about what models and systems we are not following. It was a great reminder for us. The first awareness that we had was regarding our team structure. Our team structure functions because Kevin and Fred do to much. We could continue on this path and produce results. However, we would be unable to grow. We decided that we need to stop doing lots … (2 comments)

mindset: The Key To Short Sale Success - 10/29/10 03:43 PM
Welcome back to Short Sale Power Hour. We have Coach Collard with us today again. He has been with us throughout various steps in the process of building Group 46:10. The first time Fred met Coach, he had the opportunity to see Coach Collard working in the outback. He does a great job of taking the mindset that is needed with short sales and applying that mindset. Everybody talks about it, but very few people do it. There are many people that walk around pretending that they run a successful short sale business. However, there are some people, for example Brian … (1 comments)

mindset: An Attitude Of Abundance - Special Guest Rick Geha - 10/25/10 05:45 AM

mindset: Escalating Bank Short Sales Is OK With Banks - 10/12/10 03:50 AM
Good morning. This guy hanging over my shoulder here is Coach Collard. We are just finishing up with Bank of America event at Brian Gubernick's office. Yesterday we challenged agents to get their heads out of the sand. The B of A manager that spoke with us today actually mentioned some things today that referrenced the outback. The BofA manager noted that sometimes you will come across situations where the deal is a good deal for the bank, but the negotiator just doesn't seem to get it. Sometimes you will have to fight and work your way up to a manager … (0 comments)

mindset: Widespread Wells Panic Wasn't Worthwhile - 09/27/10 04:16 AM
With another Mindset Monday in our midst, we would like to talk about the same topic that we visited on Friday. We discussed the Wells Fargo fiasco. When the news of this new Wells Fargo policy came out people freaked out. They were wondering how they would ever do another short sale with Wells Fargo. The first mindset that you should probably take from this situation is that nothing is ever what it seems. We talk about this premise frequently. So, you should be accustomed to that idea by now. However, the other thing you should consider is that your reaction … (0 comments)
