In addition to applying sepia tone, and some contrast, I selected the “Photo Effects” button and chose the “Old Photo” effect from the “Textures” area. The original picture was taken in the historic California Gold Rush town of Columbia, California.

As mentioned before, several of the free on-line photo editors offer a number of entertaining and creative possibilities for enhancing any pictures we work with. Recently, I blogged about enhancements to Ribbet’s free editing application. Ribbet added a great little eraser tool, which allows cool things to happen while working with layers.
