national marketing realtors: Have You Heard Of "Realtor Ring Day"? - 11/08/16 10:49 AM

Do you participate in "Realtor Ring Day"?
Realtor Ring Day started right here in Minot ND and has been spreading across the country through the local and State Realtor Associations.
One day out of the Holiday season many of the 200 Minot Realtors volunteer for a 3 hour shift of bell ringing at one of the many sites that The Salvation Army has one of their red kettles set up for donations.
The money we help bring in on that one day is a HUGE chunk of Minot's Salvation Army's annual budget.
I hope your neighborhood has a Realtor Ring The Bell Day. If not … (9 comments)

national marketing realtors: Baby It's Warm Outside. - 11/07/16 10:06 AM

The Southerners reading this may think I'm crazy saying it's warm outside when our highs have been in the upper 50's and 60's but those are record highs here in North Dakota for this time of year.
Of course the photo above the post and the three little girls with the hose to the right are stock photos from some royalty free art I have.
This warm weather is a real blessing for those on a fixed income as we could just as easily be experiencing subzero temps at this time of year and running up a big fuel bill heating our homes.

national marketing realtors: One More Time & The Radio Gets It! - 11/06/16 09:12 AM

Several years ago I decided it
was a waste of my time to sit down and watch the Vikings on TV. After sitting on my rear for 3 hours and having my team find new ways to lose I decided to listen on the radio so I could at least do something productive while the Vikings lost.
Well after yesterdays loss to the Lions I'm ready to shoot my radio and burn my Vikings memorabilia. Just when I thought they couldn't find a new way to lose they surprised me again.
While the Vikings keep finding ways to lose you can rest assured National Marketing Realtors … (10 comments)

national marketing realtors: Kindness - 11/06/16 08:13 AM

The church I attend has a daycare, Little Hands-Loving Hearts, that is part of our ministry. On Sunday our adult Bible study meets in part of that facility. I noticed this door today while sitting in our class.
When you throw confetti the wind takes it and you never know where it will end up. Shouldn't we shower the world in kindness the same way? Kindness costs us nothing but is so valuable to those who receive it.

national marketing realtors: Up A Tree - 11/06/16 06:04 AM

I don't know the official name of this art work (or who created it) but I'm calling it "Up A Tree". I think it's a brilliant piece of art.

This artistic creation is in the Northern portion of Roosevelt Park near my home. Roosevelt park is not a very large park but it has a lot to offer the people of Minot ND.
There are a lot of Real Estate analogies one could draw from this sculpture. My favorites would be #1) National Marketing Realtors won't leave you feeling like your up a tree. #2) Like a mighty tree National Marketing Realtors will support you … (6 comments)

national marketing realtors: Minot Housing Report For The Week Ending 11/05/2016 - 11/05/16 12:21 AM

We only had 4 closings this week in our very narrow category of stick-built single family homes within the City limits of Minot but over-all with the townhouses and condo's sold it was a pretty good week for Real Estate sales in Minot. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 82, a slight improvement over last week’s 84 days.

The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below.

national marketing realtors: And The Walls Came Tumbling Down - 11/03/16 12:16 PM

What a difference a day makes!
Yesterday
This morning
By the time I left for home this afternoon there was NO evidence of this building existing. I thought it was kind of sad as the building wasn't that old and I thought it was an attractive building.
As you may have guessed it had to come down because the government was involved. The FAA paid for most of the new airport terminal and if the City wanted the money for that the old one had to be tore down. I guess that makes sense to some bureaucrat somewhere.

national marketing realtors: Sellers... Learn A Lesson From Renters - 11/01/16 04:51 AM

Homeowners, Take A Lesson From Renters.

While most of us homeowners have a hard time grasping the concept of renting there is something we should learn from our renting friends. It’s OK to have (accept) an unrecoverable value to having a roof over your head.

The Renter pays $1,000 a month and at the end of 3 years he/she has spent $36,000 and says “I’m glad I had a roof over my head”.
The Homeowner pays $1,000 a month and at the end of 3 years he/she sells their house and says “with closing costs and commissions I only broke even… dang it!”

national marketing realtors: Late Bloomers - 10/30/16 11:58 AM

Better Late Than Never
I've been watching these flowers hoping they would bloom before they are covered with snow. We have actually had several days where the temp has gone below freezing but with the plants being so close to the house they have had just enough protection to survive.
We have had a good Fall this year, maybe a bit above average, but I remember many Halloweens where we were knee deep in snow. It's definitely a bonus to still see flowers blooming just two days before November.

national marketing realtors: Minot ND Housing Report for the week ending 10/30/2016 - 10/29/16 01:59 AM

We only had 6 closings this week (less than half of last week), in our very narrow category of stick-built single family homes within the City limits of Minot. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 85, a very nice improvement over last week’s 118 days. I omitted one sale in this report because it was a unrestored flood home that sold for $37,900 ($19.38 per square foot) after 269 days on market.

national marketing realtors: Did You Visit My Open House Sunday? - 10/24/16 02:15 AM

The days of good weather house hunting are coming to an end soon and the chances of great weather on a Sunday are an extreme gamble. Did you know you can call me to look at homes in Minot any day of the week? If we are going to look at occupied homes we need to give the home owner a minimum of one hours notice but if it's vacant I can meet you there in a matter of minutes. Give me a call next time you are in the mood to house hunt. Bob Timm, office phone number 701-852-1197, text 701-720-8513.

national marketing realtors: Say It Isn't So, Snow! - 10/05/16 12:43 PM

Although the temperatures have not yet dropped below freezing, today's high temperature was only 44 degrees. Yesterday and the days before were in the 70's. The 40's are feeling mighty cool so I decided it was time to put away the shorts and get out the thermals and long-johns.

One drawer of thermal under shirts. One drawer of thermal long underwear, and a one piece, red, long-johns.
I don't remember the last time I wore the red ones but next time we have 30 degrees below zero I may consider them.
Subzero temperatures are nothing to take lightly, one can get frostbite in just a few … (13 comments)

national marketing realtors: A Presentation Of Minot North Dakota - 10/05/16 06:29 AM

I just put together this slide presentation of Minot North Dakota. Soon I hope to figure out how to make my audio presentation match the video. I will need to do this by figuring out how to slow down the progression of slides to match my description. In the mean time here is the video with my audio transcript below it. I hope you enjoy it.

Minot is nicknamed “The Magic City” and the slogan “Why Not Minot” is helpful in instructing newcomers as to how to pronounce the name Minot.

national marketing realtors: Help Keep Christian Radio On The Air - 10/04/16 11:21 PM

Minot ND is blessed with having 4 Christian Radio Stations broadcasting over the air. There are 3 FM and one AM stations to choose from. They are all good stations but my favorites are KHRT AM and KHRT FM .
KHRT AM is your old fashion Gospel station which is what I grew up on and was very instrumental in my coming to know and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. KHRT FM is more contemporary and even though I love/loved Rock-N-Roll it is just to similar for me. A Christian artist screaming "Jesus Saves" to a beat I find familial with Aerosmith just doest give me … (0 comments)
