Speechless Sunday --Foreign Land - 05/29/11 10:02 AM
There really are not enough, or the right words you can say to the families of our soliders serving in foreign countries all over the world. Thank you seems so simple, so plain. Daily, you must think and worry about where they are and if they are safe. Daily, you must carry on with life and the business at hand while they serve their country in a foreign land. Yet all I know to say is......Thank you.

Pan African American Chamber of Commerce - 05/28/11 12:29 PM
Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure of speaking to the Nigerian Trade Mission to Atlanta as part of the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce. The event was hosted at the World Trade Center in the SunTrust building in Downtown Atlanta. The Pan African American Chamber of Commerce was recently formed to help promote trade to and from Nigeria. As part of my presentation, I spoke to the delegates about the benefits of owning real estate in the U.S. Most of the land in Nigeria is government owned, so this is not a concept all that familiar to them. I spoke (0 comments)
Real Estate Terms to Know In Georgia (The Brokerage Agreement) - 05/26/11 04:51 PM
Today, I want to continue my series on Real Estate Terms to Know in Georgia by talking (or writing?) about who represents who when you purchase Midtown Atlanta Real Estate or real estate anywhere in Georgia. We've talked about being pre-approved for a mortgage and who's on YOUR real estate team. Now, let's talk more about Real Estate Terms in Georgia and who represents you when you buy your home or condominium. Let's start with a question? You and your spouse, or significant other, are out for a Saturday afternoon stroll in Midtown Atlanta. You've been talking about buying a place, (5 comments)
The Beauty of Life. A Robin, A Nest and 4 Eggs - 05/23/11 09:35 AM
As a kid, I was always told to stay away from a bird's nest that had eggs in it. I was told you could scare the birds and they might not return to the nest to tend to the eggs. So, I've lived by that "rule" and still do. I've had a couple nests built around my house, 1 in a tree, 1 in a hanging flower pot too, and one the ledge of my house behind my patio umbrella as you can see in this picture. But this morning, a link to an amazing video appeared on my Facebook page. (8 comments)
Hello My Active Rain Friend! I've Missed You and I Have a Song For You! - 05/19/11 04:45 PM
A couple thoughts going on here today...so bear with me as I lead you to the title of my post..... I don't know about you, but I will often sit at a quiet moment in the day, or I might even be in the middle of a crowd, and suddenly, your name, or your face pops into my head. You know who you are. That friend from high school that you no longer keep in touch with A college room mate that you use to have a blast with at Happy Hour every Friday Someone you met on a vacation and (8 comments)
Last year, a very unique exhibit graced a portion of the High Museum here in Atlanta. I had meant to get these pictures up right away, but somehow they got lost in the shuffle! We know how that goes! First off, I had no idea that the Museum had a freight elevator big enough for a car, and some of these were some monsters! But to see these cars, and restored to like new was a treat for any lover of art, even if they were cars! I was especially (2 comments)
HELLO? Really? Is THAT How you Answer YOUR Phone? - 05/17/11 10:37 PM
So, I've got out-of-town clients in looking for a rental property. Today I was making some last minute arrangements for showings. In our listing service, you have several options for numbers to call. One can be the owner directly, or that same field might say, Call Listing Agent. Then there are fields for a direct number, as well as the number of the actual brokerage office, as required by law. Most of us in real estate (actually I hope ALL of us) operate with cell phones. They are an extension of our arms quite frankly. It's how we do business, and (15 comments)
Atlanta Food Coalition To Host Southern Swap Meet - May 21, 2011 - 05/16/11 11:24 PM
Once you read this, I'm pretty sure you are going to be just as curious as I am to attend the Atlanta Food Coalition Southern Swap Meet this coming Saturday, May 21st from 5-11pm at the Goat Farm in Midtown West. YES, I said Goat Farm and Midtown West in the same sentence. I've had to do some investigating for THIS story. First off, there are no goats. (sigh of relief?) Formerly known as Murray Mill, The Goat Farm, a sprawling 100-year-old cotton gin industrial facility in West Midtown Atlanta, has been transformed over the years by its owners into a (2 comments)
Yesterday, I got to have my third opportunity to work as an extra on a movie set. It's certainly non-glamorus work, but it's extra money (is that why they call it extras....I think not) and you get to see some pretty cool people. When you hear how much a movie costs, just sit in on a production like this, and you will soon understand why. There is somebody for EVERY job, not somebody doing several jobs. It takes forever to get it right. How many times do we have (21 comments)
Yes. I Am The Human. You Are The Dog. Just Don't Treat Me Like a Dog. - 05/15/11 11:54 AM
Author's Note: As of Monday, May 16, this guy has been placed with Atlanta Lab Rescue where he will get adopted out very quickly. They have determined he has a chip, and are trying to contact the owners who live about TWENTY miles from where I do....can we say "let's just drop our dog off....." I'm know he will go to a home that will offer more love than they seemed capable of.....Thom

May Is Skin Cancer Awareness Month - 05/12/11 07:56 PM
Considering I am finishing up a treatment series for basal cell on both my forehead and face, I thought this a worthy share to pass along. As I commented...I hate my sickly looking white skin, but my days of laying by the pool and cooking are over. It's now a cabana and cocktails!

Viewpoint Midtown Atlanta -- Going, Going......Almost! - 05/11/11 01:09 AM
I'm getting pretty nervous here, and I really need YOUR help!!! Viewpoint Midtown Atlanta is almost sold out!! What am I nervous about? That I won't have been able to help YOU, the Midtown Atlanta condo buyer get a home in this building before they are GONE! And I mean we are down to the wire! The Viewpoint Midtown Atlanta Sales Center has already changed their web page and the floor plans for the building are no longer available, except for the homes they have left. Georgia Tech Condo Housing -- Metropolis Midtown Atlanta - 05/09/11 02:37 PM
Our next "look" at off campus housing options for Georgia Tech students and Georgia Tech Condo Housing takes us to Metropolis Midtown. This building could sort of be called "the one that started it all" with regards to what is now high rise living in Midtown Atlanta. A great building, and another excellent choice for parents and students from Georgia Tech who are looking to make a real estate investment while attending school. Metropolis Midtown Atlanta This addition to the Midtown Atlanta skyline arrived in 2002. Metropolis Midtown consists of two towers, separate on the 6th Floor by the pool deck (0 comments)
Georgia Tech Condo Housing - Plaza Midtown - 05/07/11 02:03 PM
Graduation is just around the corner, and the halls, and streets of Georgia Tech will be a bit quieter for a couple months. Of course, many students continue on through the Summer to either get caught up on classes they have missed, or try to shorten their stay at Georgia Tech. But one thing is pretty constant through all of this...Where Is YOUR Georgia Tech Student going to live? Georgia Tech Condo Housing I always make the disclaimer, NO, there are not any condominiums located ON the Georgia Tech campus. But living in a condominium is a great option for a (4 comments)
Shock waves have rippled through the Midtown Atlanta community with the recent announcement by Major Khirus Williams, in his own words, that he was "forced to retire" after a controversial comment he made regarding a proposed change to policing strategies in Midtown Atlanta. My involvement in Midtown Atlanta over the past 4 years has proven to me what a true champion Major Williams was in the fight against crime in Midtown. He truly "got into the community" and I've had the pleasure on numerous occasions to be at functions with him. In fact, he graciously attended a luncheon I hosted (4 comments)
Georgia Tech Condo Housing - Mid City Lofts Condominiums - 05/03/11 07:02 AM
As Georgia Tech students and parents plan for the coming Fall, 2011 Semester, where they will be living is certainly a serious consideration. While on-campus housing and off-campus apartments are options, there is another option for Georgia Tech parents to consider where their student will live. How about making an investment in Georgia Tech Condo Housing. Georgia Tech Condo Housing No, Georgia Tech does not have condominiums on campus. But, as parents consider living options for their son or daughter, they might consider a real estate investment and purchase a condo for them to live in while attending school. Twelve Centennial Park Downtown Atlanta Your Last Chance! - 05/01/11 10:19 PM
During our building rush a few years back, there were cranes everywhere as it seemed like the buildings were just coming out of no where. Well, times have changed, and the new construction, at least in high-rise condominiums is non-existent. But, you still have some select opportunities like Twelve Centennial Park in Downtown Atlanta! Rising 39 stories above the streets of Downtown Atlanta, Twelve Centennial Park Condominiums offer views that are as exciting as the variety of floor plans. With 517 homes, you are sure to find something you will like! And with Close Out pricing starting in the $130's for (0 comments)
