After watching several documentaries on Joan Crawford, I became curious as to why Mommie Dearest was written and filmed. Seems Christina, adopted daughter, carried much hate for her, revealing all in a #1 best selling book and movie.
Many people are more than willing to believe in the worst of others and often do, once convincingly swayed. Imagine being unable to defend against a salacious book/movie designed to destroy your entire life's work and reputation.

Huntsman World Senior Games Welcomes 11,000+ Athletes in 2019!
Running October the 7th thru October the 19th, 2019, the Huntsman World Senior Games in the St. George, Utah area welcomes athletes 50 years and older from all over the world. People come from the 50 states and 34 different countries to compete in 30 sports venues.
The largest group is softball with over 350 teams, followed by volleyball with approximately 200 teams. The games were founded in 1987 by John and Daisy Morgan, who wanted to fill hotel rooms in St. George, Utah by bringing in an event fostering world peace, health and friendship.

Pure instinct becomes the driving force, sending a seedling upright toward the skies, ever reaching to achieve the intended goal. Though high winds, pests and inclemement weather may threaten to impede the straight-right approach, standing tall becomes the end result, inspiring all present.

A Volunteer Heart.
From a very young age, there was a sense of satisfaction when doing for others and as I became an adult, it became more of a reflex. From Special Olympics to bowling and playing softball with people with disabilities, the innate sense of belonging and making a difference propelled me to continue those efforts.

Sellers may ask that you perform open house events in an effort to get their home sold. There are some advantages to this but the risks often outweigh any benefit as you will see in this story.
Opportunists posing as interested buyers may feign interest, when they are really looking to make a quick buck. Some will take anything of value like jewelry, electronic notebooks or small tools.

By definition, ask-holes are adults who constantly ask for advice and then always do the opposite. They are time-suckers and toxic. Their lives are poorly managed and rather than rightfully earning business, they play out pity stories to friends, family members and potential clients.
My advice: Avoid ask-holes at all costs and if you see them coming, cross the street! You can also:

It takes time, sincere effort and mutual respect to create a reliable working environment with others. Never, ever break trust with those who have created a long standing relationship at any cost.

Apologize to anyone who may have been inconvenienced.
Walk toward finding a solution rather than turning away.
Own it when at fault instead of pointing fingers in any direction.

Especially when it comes to COFFEE!!!
On a more serious note: Real estate is not for everyone. Cancelled listings, disappointed buyers, looming deadlines, failed negotiations, lending issues, misplaced anger, personality conflicts, robust opinions can take it's toll.
For those who are unable to handle the stresses of this industry and need some advice...Drink more coffee and leave the rest to those who can. Happy sales all!

We've all known our share of people that fit the description. Those who have a filter but refuse to utilize it for a softer approach. Anything can set them off, even minor trivial issues become magnified beyond boundaries. They tend to put a negative spin on every subject in an effort to interrupt and overtake conversations in person and online.

An obnoxious person that shows up on social media posts, offering an aggressive, rambling opinion that usually has nothing whatsoever to do with the subject matter. Most likely, just for the sake of being heard or to be the center of attention for a minute, often disappearing into obscurity until the next opportunity presents.
Many years ago, my grandfather gave me some valuable advice that still works for people like that: Ignore a barking dog and it will go away. It does work. Thanks Gramps!

Before sending out a reply recently on a post about champagne, I remarked Salut! At second glance, it was missing the 'a' and I quickly added it before sending it off. Can you imagine what the receiver would have thought had I not caught that?!
Yikes!
Social media is a fantastic platform to quickly get a message relayed, to continue a conversation or spark a response. Ensure the comment you wish to send is intended, rather than something that can create a questionable atmosphere of distrust or outright shock.

At Home with The Yoga Master.
In a serious effort to get healthier, I have recently taken up yoga, consulting with the best of the best in southern Utah. Though some poses are extremely daunting, a little stretching before beginning a session goes a long way toward flexibility.
Having a leading yoga master instructor gives the confidence and discipline I need to to work out, though his methods are far superior. Being in his company lifts my spirits every day. Oh! Have to go now, the next session is about to begin...

Glad to know that an early lesson taught by my dad still remains a part of an everyday business practice. He would say, "No one can read your mind, you need to ask for what you want."
There is no secret that getting referrals from past clients is the biggest compliment you are able to receive for excellent service. And yes, you still need to ask for future business.

It is amazing how a tiny bloom can demand full attention by setting itself apart from others in the vicinity. As professionals, we must accomplish the same goals day to day for continued success.
