Scouring the Internet I have chosen 70 Forums and discussion groups that have had active participation within the past thirty days and have a real estate theme or topic of local information and are geared toward interactivity with consumer rather than real estate professionals only.

Using these websites a real estate agent can,
  • Get involved directly in discussions.
  • Observe and gather topics of consumer interest to blog about.
  • Find topics of consumer interest for guest blogger post topics.
  • Use to build a successful marketing campaign (See the last item on this post for more information on how to).
  • Combine with Question and Answer Websites for a powerful online internet real estate prospecting plan= Free Lead Generation.

Pick and choose forums and dicussions based on your niche, area(s) of expertise, and locality.

Damn, you really work at this girl!  This is a boatload of info, and you provide a lot to take in.  It is a little overwhelming to stay focused on the selling, and try to build a web presence at the same time.

Hi Rebecca,  Haven't been on the rain much in a while, however, when I am, you are one among a select few I like to read.  You always offer so much useful content and I wanted 1.) to tell you so and 2.) for the shameless fact that now I have a link to this post for future reference.  Thanks for all your good work.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Thx Rebecca, I just joined last week and am amazed at that talent that is here at active rain. I attempted to subscribe to your blog thru feed blitz sign up so will see if it works. Great list in this post. I will check them out and see if I can add any insight at these spots. The challenge in social media for newcomers is not so much what to say, but mastering all the technology of the different platforms...video, podcasting several blogging sites in addition to your own website...as my wife says, that alone can be a full time job. Thx for solid content.

Steve,

Thank you for your subscription.  I agree, there is a learning curve mastering different types of SMM.  I understand though that real estate professionals have a lot of information and expertise they can share with consumers online and that is the most important part of all the pieces.  This sharing of information is at the core of any online marketing endeavors that are looking to be successful- for the short and long term.
