Every year, on New Years day, I go to the Opryland Hotel and have breakfast at the Cascades Restaurant. Afterward, I go for a walk through the many atriums and gardens that encompass the Opryland complex.
Overall, there are approximately 9 acres of walks and gardens, divided into 3 separate areas. Each has its own unique theme. These are the Cascades, Delta, and Garden or Magnolia Conservatories. My two personal favorites are the Cascades and Magnolia rooms.
The second largest of the atriums, the Cascades, was built in 1988. This section was built to complement the Magnolia or Garden Conservatory which was built in 1983. The Cascades encompasses about an acre and hosts a large 44-foot cascading waterfall as its main focal point. There are several streams, small water falls, fountains and reflecting pools for guests to enjoy.Thousands of tropical plants and warm temperatures abound. There is no better way to spend the day than a relaxing walk along the miles of walks through these wonderful complexes.
The pictures and short video were taken in the Cascades atrium. These really do not do the area justice, but I hope that you enjoy...
