Today was Margaret Rome's Open House with Realtor Magazine tagging along. Since making last nights dinner was not an option for me (writing contracts got in the way LOL) I did not want to miss the open house so I booked it on my calendar to be there for sure.
My first blessing came when Margaret Woda asked if I was going and we decided to ride together. I always enjoy spending time with Margaret. She is an inspiration to me and such a joy to be around AND she is the one who introduced me to my Active Rain addiction!! She offered to drive which was another blessing as after a full weekend of showings and contract writing I was tired around the edges for sure. Our whole trip was spent talking non stop as we had so much to catch up on.
Upon arriving at the open house and entering through the back door Margaret Rome caught us entering and greeted us with one of her wonderful hugs. One thing I have noticed each time I meet Margaret is that she is genuinely glad to see you. She immediately makes you feel comfortable and welcome which makes you glad you are there. A quintessential lady in every sense of the word. Blessing #2
A tour of the home was in order and though there were many wonderful qualities and features throughout I just fell in love with these hats. Would love to have met the lady of the house who wears them.
The doctor came to visit while I was there, Stacey-Ann Baugh. I've met her before yet I am always thrilled when I have the opportunity to do so once again. Did you know she and her husband have been busy opening their Silver Spring real estate office?? Who says the market sucks. LOL. Blessing #3
Rich Iarossi was there. Rich and I work from the same Long & Foster office and rub elbows every week while conducting business. I do not know if we are unigue or not but Rich, Margaret Woda and I are all huge Active Rain fans AND from the same office. If nothing else it makes life interesting don't you think??? I count that as Blessing #4
Strangely enough Lenn Harley recognized me long before I did her. How embarassing. It wasn't until a bit later that I had the nerve to go over to where she was sitting and apologize for not recognizing her. She has such a different demeanor in person than what I see on her blog. I of course told her so, (I am not known for my tack thats for sure LOL), and she laughed and said many feel that way. She is the perfect mix of southern charm and yankee ingenuity with a smile that lights up a room. Blessing #5
And then there was C Tann Starr. Big as life and sweet as apple pie. What a priceless gift that was for her to travel all the way from New York leaving her precious minions behind just so she could be there with Margaret Rome and the rest of us. What does that tell you about the power AND the friendships forged through Active Rain? A whole lot I think. True Blessing #6
These were just a few of many who kept the door in motion and the driveway full in the time I and Margaret Woda were there. I would dare to say the open house was a success for sure. After all it was done the Rome Way so it was a sure bet from the beginning! LOL
Yes AR Gatherings are truly lifes little blessings. And when Margaret Rome is the one bringing it all together the blessings are manifested into good times and friendships forged.
