By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty - Atlantic Shore

As autumn approaches, we have to say good bye to one of my favorite summertime staples in New Jersey...the Jersey Fresh Farmer's Markets in Barnegat, Manahawkin and Tuckerton and Waretown.

Jersey FreshTrue, Jersey Fresh items will be available through the fall at Herberts Market in Waretown on Route 9, and the B & B Market in Little Egg Harbor, on Route 9 just south of Great Bay Boulevard but you won't have a chance to talk to the people who raised the corn, tomatoes, peaches, zucchini, peppers or eggplant.

If you haven't yet visited the local Jersey Fresh Farmer's Markets, do it before it's too late!

Barnegat, NJ Jersey Fresh  On Thursday afternoon's (12noon - 5pm) at the Township Clock across from the Cox House, the intersection of Route 9 and East Bay Avenue through September.

Manahawkin, NJ Jersey Fresh
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday's from 9am til mid afternoon at the Manahawkin Flea Market on East Bay Avenue across from the Motor Vehicle Office through September.

Tuckerton, NJ Jersey Fresh
On Saturday's from 10am til 2pm at the Tuckerton Seaport on Route 9 across from Lake Pohatcong until October 19th.

Waretown, NJ Jersey Fresh
 On Tuesday afternoon's (12noon - 5pm)
through September local growers gather to sell corn, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, peaches and everything Jersey Fresh!  Fresh baked items and crafts are also available.  The market is located at Indian Hill Rlaza on Route 9 in Waretown through October 26th.

Why buy Jersey Fresh?  Oftentimes it's picked that morning, and on your table that evening!

Hitting the farmers' market at 7 am on Saturday is one of my favorite things....and the recipe for dinner materializes as you walk the aisles, take in the sites, smells and scenery...mmmm...it doesn't get better !

Farmers Markets are one of my favorite things Laura............the best in Cleveland is the West Side Market........just outside of downtown...........don't get there often enough, but found a Farmers Market in my own neighborhood yesterday, and it's open all year............great little place and so convenient.  It's a block away, and I just discovered it yesterday, first chance I had to sniff around my neighborhood, only been here two weeks.

I grew up in that area and the fresh produce was always wonderful.

Not much happening at the local markets nowdays.   Mostly squash and melons with a few applew trickling in.

My garden is all done also!

Laura, our Farmer's Market in San Carlos ended for the year last Thursday. Luckily for us, we have several in nearby towns that run year round -- but not with the bounty and variety of the summer.
