Here in Denver, yesterday we finally got a measurable snowfall!     This is very late in the season, as we enjoyed Denver's 1st measurable snowfallvery mild temperatures throughout the Fall months!      The mountains have been getting measurable snow every week, and allowing for EPIC ski conditions.

Snowblower SafetyAs we take our snow blowers out of cobwebs, there are tips we need to review:

This machine can be very dangerous, and needs to be run by a responsible adult!     Many accidents happen each year by improperly cleaning out the auger or discharge chute!

1.   NEVER put your hands into the chute to clear clogged snow!    Be careful using the tool to clean the chute, and make sure machine is off because sticking any objects into the chute!

2.   When blowing snow off driveways and sidewalks, they are usually icy underneath the snow, and is wise to wear boots with traction as to not have an accident by slipping and falling.    Wear clothing that will not accidentally get caught in the snow blower, such as scarves, or loose jackets.     It is also wise to wear a face mask for the blowing snow that could end up in your face in frigid temperatures.      Leather gloves are a good bet to keep good hold of the machine, and keep your hands from frostbite.

3.   Before starting the snow blowing process, be sure to remove any items that could be hiding under the snow, such as door mats, children's toys, papers delivered, etc.     These could get caught up in the snow blower and do damage to the machine.

Have a safe winter, and enjoy the snow, especially when you have a snow blower!

But Robert, they would miss the beauty Denver offers, along with really nice weather for the most part!   This snow will be gone in a couple of days.   It does not stick for long!

Barbara, that was funny, there were kids (equipped with snow shovels) walking up and down the street while I was writing this looking for work.

Craig, it is very convenient, especially when there are several inches to scoop up!     Using it properly and not having any accidents is the best for a winter season!      Happy New Year to you as well!

Good tips about snow blowing safety Joan.  I had lots of practive shoveling yesterday.  First my walkways and then a clients house because they are out of town and have a showing today. Boy was it cold out there.
