This is inspired by David Popoff's What were your top 10 Active Rain posts for 2010? Interestingly, my top one is a short post I wrote quickly w/ a video...not a masterpiece by any stretch. It's called "How to hire a contractor you can trust." But, I think the title is good and maybe the video helped. This made me realize I should prob. explore this topic more in the future.

Ginny - Thx so much. I think a lot of realtors can find the info handy...but, I think it's google that's driving a lot of the hits...at least after the post has been around for a few days.

Debbie: That's alot of hits, but not surprising as your posts are easy to read and very informative. You make a good point about periodically going back and checking your stats to see what works, but to more importantly (I think), to see where you can improve.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to quickly determine how many of the hits actually resulted in new/follow-on business?!

Congrats on the 2010 success...I'm sure with the foundation already laid, you'll have an even better 2011.

Valerie - Thx so much. I appreciate that.

Anita - Thank you so much. Yes, we need to do to improve. I wish there was a way to directly tie to biz, but that seems to be next to impossible to figure out unless someone tells you directly the post they read. I'd also like to know which posts lead to the traffic to my web. Again, all wishes. I hear from many of the realtors that it's the local posts that often get them the biz and they often have few or no comments. It sort of makes sense - not only because you are showing you are a local expert but also because the people clicking on it are local to you. I think the same thing is happening on my local hardwood posts.
