My head is spinning and my eyes are twitching. It starts with pressure behind the eye. Then there is a certain amount of twitching as the abnormal discomfort shifts to the frontal lobe.

It is a migraine headache. It is absolutely debilitating. And it will not soon go away.

In years past I have been able to avoid the worst kinds of headaches by taking proactive measures. At the first sign of pressure, I would take a beta-blocker such as Inderal (Propranolol) that would divert the worst part of the headache.

Over the years, the headaches became more and more infrequent and so I no longer have an arsenal of therapeutic medicines at my immediate disposal. I let my guard down so I fear that I will have to deal with this episode the old fashioned way:

Ride it out.

And so if my grammar is poor and my message is confusing please forgive me.

I am not myself today.

Richard, Hope you shake it quickly.  Liz is prone to them when weather fronts roll through.  For some reason a cheeseburger meal with fries and a soda from Mickey D's seems to help.  Don't know what's in there that works...but it does.

Richard, so sorry to hear about this. In Chinese medicine it usually means there is too much yang energy - quiet, deep rhythmic breathing can help

Richard...My wife suffered from migranes for amny years before we met.   After 6 months with me, they almost disappeared.  Now instead oif one or two a week, it is one every 3-4 months.

No, it wasn't my good charm, lol.   MSG.  It is found in meat tenderizers and a lot of Chinese foods.

Even my Brother who started suffering from migranes after his heart surgery found a lot of relief after cutting out the meat tenderizers with MSG.

Just a friendly tip!

Oh, I feel bad for you. We live with this in our household. I had to pick up my daughter at school today, when I got there she was lying on the floor of the counselor's office and throwing up. It just is so overwhelming when it comes on....William #16 has an interesting comment about msg....I should look into that.

Oh Richard, I feel your pain..really. I've had this nasty cold for almost two weeks...and twice (once while at the coast with friends) I've had those darn migraines sneak up on me. I too haven't had them in years. Three advil, cool cloth on the forehead, totally dark room and deep breathing. Those are usually what helps me. Feel better!

Richard, I hate those. I suffered through them when I was pregnant with my oldest. I have never been in pain like that, lasting for days until medication took over. I hope that you will again build up your arsenal of weapons against the demon.

And I hope today will be a much brighter, better, headache free day!
