6th Annual Hambone Jam – Fort Valley Georgia
If you like great BBQ, excellent entertainment, and a fun atmosphere, then downtown Fort Valley GA is the place to be on Sept 9th and 10th for the 6th Annual Hambone Jam.
35 teams from around the state are expected to compete this year for the right to boast they are the best BBQ Grill Masters in the state! The event is recognized by the Georgia Barbecue Association as the GA Championship Barbecue Competition.
The event runs 3:00pm – 6:00pm on Friday and 11:00am – 6:00pm on Saturday.
Categories
The categories this year in the main competition are Pork Loin, Pulled Pork, and Ribs. Come out, watch, and learn from those who have perfected their craft. Finger licking good doesn’t do it justice…you’ll have to stop by and see for yourself!
In the Friday night ancillary contest, winners will be selected in both best sauce and dessert categories. YUM!

- Reserve Champion: $1,000
Main Competition (each category)
- 1st: $500
- 2nd: $250
3rd: $125- 4th: $75
- 5th: $50
- 6th-10th: A Ribbon
Ancillary Competition (both categories)
- 1st: $100
- 2nd: $75
- 3rd: $50
Entertainment
Mosey on over to Main Street in downtown Fort Valley on Friday night and jam to the Rock anthems belted out by The John Stanley Band.
Show up early on Saturday and be entertained with Blues and Southern Rock performed by Uncle Earl & Friends, starting at 11:00am.
Fun Fact
The Hambone Jam in Fort Valley, Georgia, is always held on the weekend immediately following Labor Day.
