Space Shuttle Endeavor’s Final Flight over Huntington Beach, California
The Space Shuttle Endeavor has had an exciting career. This is her final journey across county and an end to the Space Shuttle Program.

Built in 1991 in Palmdale, CA.
Was tested at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
Weighs 170,000 lbs.
Has flown 122,853,151 miles.
Spent 299 days in space.
Was the 5th and final shuttle made for NASA.
Had 25 sucessful flights in space.
Has over 2.5 million parts.
Commander Mark Kelly commanded the last flight May 16- June 1, 2011.
NASA decommissioned the Endeavour in June 2011.
The California Space Center in Los Angeles now owns the Endeavour.
Endeavor’s Schedule:
09-19-2012: On Wednesday, the Space Shuttle Endeavour left Kennedy Space Center in Florida piggybacked on a modified 747 jet. The shuttle then flew east and landed Wednesday in Houston, TX.
09-20-2012: Today, the Endeavor headed to CA, but flew over Tucson, AZ for Commander Mark Kelly and his wife, former Rep.Gabrielle Giffords and also over New Mexico. At 12:50 p.m. today she flew into Edwards Air Force Base, CA after doing a wide sweep for spectators below.
09-21-2012: Endeavour’s final flight loops California on Sept 21st and will head north to flyover Sacramento and San Francisco and then head south back to LA & Orange Counties at approx. 10:30-11:30 a.m. and land at LAX before noon.
The shuttle will be leaving Edwards at 7:15 am Friday and flyover Palmdale, Lancaster, Rosamond and then head north to San Francisco and Sacramento.
They will then fly south to Malibu, Venus Beach, Huntington Beach, Downtown LA City Hall, Getty Center, Queen Mary, CA Science Center in LA, The Hollywood Sign, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, Disneyland and finally land at LAX. This will conclude her final flight!
09-21-2012: Toured California and safely landed at LAX at 12:55 p.m. Early the next morning, the shuttle was lifted off the 747 to get ready for its last leg of the trip.
Oct 12, 2012: The Shuttle will be transported to the CA Science Center at Exposition Park, Los Angeles CA. The shuttle will be transported on a 116 wheel transporter to go the 12 miles to Endeavour’s final home.
