How To Use Google Plus Local Places Effectively - Tampa Florida

How To Use Google Plus Local Places Effectively - Tampa Florida

Social media is a very popular and easy way to spread the word about your business but to get the most return on investment (ROI) it’s best to have a social media plan. Otherwise you can get caught up in Twitter drama or Facebook games.

Learning How To Use Google Plus Local Places Effectively - Tampa Florida involves a simple three-step process: Setup, Networking and Marketing. After the Setup phase is complete, then it’s really only the networking and marketing that will need your attention.

Setting Up Google Plus

First, set up your Google Plus Local Places business page profile. Simply fill in the fields with your name, company name, location and a photo and you you’re now ready to venture further into using Google Plus. Of course, if you have a physical location for your company and are looking to use Google Plus as a way to grow and promote your business, make sure you include your location.

Second, create a Google Page for your business. In the left sidebar of your profile you’ll notice an icon that says “Pages” (it may also be under the “More” icon). Click this icon and then choose which type of page you want to create. Just keep following the very easy instructions for choosing your category, personalizing the page’s profile, and adding a photo.

How To Use Google Plus Local Places Effectively - Tampa Florida to Network

Remember that you now have two Google Plus profiles: 1 personal and 1 business. Most likely, if you’re trying to grow your business and get your brand recognized, you’ll want to do your business networking under your business profile. When you log in to Google Plus, simply click the “Pages” icon and begin posting information, tips, photos or videos.

To really jumpstart your networking efforts, you will have to search out people who fit into your target market. You can search for these people using the search function and then fit them into one of your circles. The same is true of local businesses or your chamber of commerce.

Once people start to find your Google Plus Local Places business page, they will add you to their own circles and you will receive notifications. Now you can add those people to your circles, which is a function not available with Facebook.

Keep in mind that it’s not enough to just add people to your circles. They will forget about your page very quickly if you don’t post useful information for them to read. Even before you get your first follower, you should write some posts that others will find useful. Start with an introduction post telling what you have to offer and then keep following it up with tips, recipes, or photos of local events that are interesting to your readers. If people ask questions or make comments on your posts, answer them back right away. Strike up conversations as frequently as possible to engage your audience.

How To Use Google Plus Local Places Effectively - Tampa Florida when Marketing

There’s nothing wrong with self-promotion on social media provided that you’re not doing it every single day or with every single post. The key is to always ask yourself how you can help others and what information will your readers find useful.

Encourage your readers to share your website content by adding the +1 badge to your site. This is the small, orange button that allows readers to share your website link with others in their Google Plus circles. The more useful the information, the more people will share it which will hopefully lead to more sales.

@Wallace, you dont HAVE to have a second account, it just helps with ranking your google business page faster.  I personally have mutliple Gmail and Youtube accounts (in case one gets turned off by Google themselves.  I would totally disagree with Google and Reviews (IMHO)

@Amanda, Let me know if I can help you with that.  If you are the business woner, chances are you already have a google plus business page

@Gita, you are welcome

@Kevin -- here is another guide for you http://googlepluslocalplaces.com/video-squeeze/index.html

@Henry, I agree that Facebook has more but many agents and professionals, as well as local business partners do not do this one simple yet powerful step.  While Google is relying on social signals and socail media, they will give preference over the own social media (G +) vs facebook.  I suggest that you make sure ALL bases are covered.  Dont give a chance to have some other realtor steal your Google Plus Listing (for business) and install there own image on it - directing people to call them (Yes, it is done a lot)

@melissa, You're welcome - Please pass it on to others (maybe I will get featured post status) - If you dont have time to do this, find an expert

@Danielle, you're welcome - Please reshare to help a fellow 'Rainer out!

SkyDiving Kansas City

Step one is to claim your google profile (if you own a business) -- Make one if you are a professional
Step Two, Make videos
Step Three, ask clients (past, present) to review you (testimonials)

I just recently created a Google + profile specific to my business because I realized using my personal account (although business branded) had too much personal stuff.  Bookmarked this to refer and follow.

Wow, a featured article - SUH - WEET Ness!!!

@Bryan - I totally agree, like FB it is good to have a professional and personal page -- but to do that you have to have two seperate gmail accounts (I have multiple but for different reasons) -- Thankfully, Google has not (yet) allowed games and etc like Facebook does.  I would not want potential clients seeing the games I play -- but letting them see a LITTLE of personal life is ok (IMHO)

@Lanre -- Call me anytime, I deal with LoMoSo (aka Mocial) Marketing - Local / Social / Mobile marketing.

@Kathy, you are welcome -- Look for a call from me in the near future

@Christina - Thanks for the kind words, I will review you in the next few days and then call you.  I will also add you as an associate

@Christine D - I need to do a video series on who / what / when / where / why - I just finished two series -- Pinterest and Wordpress (beginning and advanced) training videos -- Looks for those soon.  Wow - you have 1.18 Million points, I wanna be just like you when i grow up
